What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I see you hooked your Hartshead up with several sweet tarts, very cool; hope you're having a fun market day! ;)

Toting a couple thrifty 1930s Imperial/Hammer Brand slicers today. :)

Yeah, hard to resist with the cheap prices in my local market! :D Thanks JJ, been a good day :) It's really nice to see those Hammer Brand Beauties again my friend :)

My first beer in France this trip for medicinal purposes of course.
Wet and cold so didn’t ride my bike I just explored Biarritz town centre.
Lots of interesting bikes around.
As you know the French live to eat, we English eat to live.
I would rather be in a rock bar than eating.
I also prefer Spanish and German food, but don’t tell them 😂

I’m stealing that first joke for my Dad Joke collection.

I love that model of Victorinox. So simple, so useful around the garden.

And that’s a great color.

I like that mysterious Schrade! Stainless with Staglon®️ like an Uncle Henry...

Nice photos of your tour! I think it’s great that you have the freedom to do that.
Thanks bud.

Classic model 161 was one of the first pocket knives from the house OTTER-Messer
A simple design with Carbon Steel C45. Satin finish. There's nothing I don't like about this knife
Closed: 105mm (4.13") ... a good handful and ready to work
Sapele Wood ... reminiscent of Mahogany and is a part of the same Meliaceae family
In hand, the interlocked grain has a lustrous iridescence when light catches it, but hard to capture on camera

EDIT: A size comparison ... that's a full size Sod Buster

Evening all! Since I received encouragement for my polishing yesterday, I decided to victimize my Mustang and finished it all the way up. Fairly pleased with the results although I missed some 600 grit scratches what accidentally got on the bolster, and I'm picking up some tiny scratches off my buffer wheel but I think that's likely silica contamination should probably clean out. Did I mention I'm picky?
You just get to have fun developing more patina again
True! Thank goodness strawberries are in season, the tastiest way to a colorful patina :p
@bigfish64
I think it looks great. 😎👍
Thank for feeding a stray dog, I appreciate it!

Shackle makes the knife look tiny.View attachment 1858066
Forgive me, but I gotta ask ... (1) How many tonnes does that shackle weigh? (2) How may tonnes is the anchor it goes on (3a) Does the cotter key for that beast weigh under 50 pounds? (3b)  How do you bend the cotter key so it won't fall off?!? Is it bent cold or heated to bend it? That looks like at least a 1.25 inch diameter hole for the cotter key. It definitely going to take some leverage and torque to bend it.
(4) What ship?

You certainly have an excellent market, sounds like fun, too! :)
Thank you very much, Jack!!! :)
Thanks JJ, hope you have a great day :)
