What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Don't know if I've seen that one before or not, but...🤩

The last few days I get up, open the windows, and mess around out in the yard or go to town for couple of hours before it gets too hot. Today, I took the trash out, put a couple of bills in the mailbox (how archaic of me), put a new license sticker on the bike, took a few knife pics and I was ready to go back in and turn the AC back on. Dew point of 74, 89% humidity. Its only 80 degrees (F) out, but sheesh it just drapes around you like a heavy, hot, damp cloak 🥵 Glad I'm not going to be out working in it all day 😬
Anyway, enough whining, its better than a foot of snow View attachment 1863891

Had the Pioneer in my pocket on my brief outdoor sojourn.

I have a Swiss Army Pioneer X Alox - 2022 Limited Edition - Thunder Gray coming tomorrow. Been a long time since I bought a SAK and I never had a Pioneer. I love them for their usefulness (many tools in a small package) and the stainless steel is a big plus for a fishing knife. I like that blue one a lot too.☺️

Glad you liked my ole Keen Kutter ! ☺️

A lot of SAK's showing up on this thread lately. ☺️

Nice save on that abused blade. It’s almost a lambfoot. Let’s call it Voosfoot.
When I look through this thread it makes me realize that I really don't belong on the same internet as a lot of you. You as a group have and show such incredible stuff. Yet here I am and here I shall continue to appear.

Today was this USA made Sears Craftsman. It's actually a decent enough knife, solid lockup, no blade wobbles and it is a nice using size.

Craftsman knives are primo, in my opinion, and fit it just fine here.
Baba-Bantam single blade today.
I made Oak Shou Sugi Ban scales on this one, very happy with the result.
Love the texture on the oak! You’re becoming quite a skilled knife wrangler.

I like that,simple clean lines.
Thank you, Johnny. :)
I also like it's simple elegance.
Schrade and Camillus and Case and Buck are the workhorses of America.
True words, working man knives. 🤠
Same goes for that one!
Thank you, my friend. :)
Your Charlie Lamb looks like has a proper angle to the blade, that's awesome. 🤠:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Great pairing for the humid days, Todd. 🤠

So remember when we were kids chasing those little yellow and white “butterflies”?
Well, they are moths, and are hell on certain garden plants. They flit around looking for brassicas~ broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprout, collards, kale, etc, and lay their devil’s seed. The egg hatches into tiny green caterpillars which grow fast by eating the leaves of my plants. By the time the little bugger is almost an inch long, it will have the leaf stripped to a skeleton. I lost all of my brussels sprouts to them last year, but am waging war this year. I refuse to use insecticides, so I scoot along on my garden stool inspectecting each leaf on every targeted plant. Tedious, and an everyday chore. Probably should get some of that netting we used at the farm. Here’s a caterpillar attacking a brussel sprout plant:E0B30BD8-EA9E-43E2-846B-295195745EDE.jpeg

But I found a new ally in the garden. And I am revising my hatred of yellowjackets. I found this guy eating one of tjose little devils~8C3CC792-DCC8-4249-AEA7-5822E00895D5.jpeg

Thank you Mr. Jack. She was a small lady. I doubt she ever weighed over a 100 pounds. Born a country girl and the youngest of nine children. As she learned to talk, the Great Depression took hold of the country. She had many fabulous stories and old sayings, which she frequently loved to tell.

A fantastic cook and had a very very large sweet tooth, similar to somebody else I know. 🤣 She most always told that she loved to cook (and it showed), but, at the age of 89 she declared her kitchen closed. I think it was, in large part, related to her declining memory. She found an old wooden plaque somewhere, which said "Kitchen Closed - this cooks had it !" and propped it up on her stove top. And that was the end of her family famous meals. After the kitchen closed, she used her never used again oven to store all of her sweets.;)☺️
Your mom sounds like a wonderful lady Mr P :) Thank you sharing your memories of her my friend :)
