Great pic. I’ve got hundreds of pictures of my shepherd in the puppy stage. They are the cutest things.

It’s a wonderful knife.

Just got up and have a pot brewing. We have a Keurig coffee maker but sometimes, we like it brewed the old way. I'm even going to have it in a Wagon Wheel Cafe coffee mug but will have to use a straw to keep the coffee from leaking out of my split lip and running down my chin. Usually, I use a "to go" cup and don't require a straw when doing that. I'll be totin the Red Linen Micarta Bull Nose for the day.

Just for variety's sake, today it's this Craftsman lockback.

I've always liked this pattern lockback, they were made by Camillus I think.
I had the imperial backpacker which is a less expensive version of this without bolsters, they also had the imperial frontier 4514 with various colors of synthetic scales.
Faux ivory color, black, and I think I've green.

I believe you're right about Camillus as the maker. It's a useful knife that's a nice size.

Honest question, not trying to be a smart Alek. What exactly is traditional and is it the same for me, as an old guy, as someone in their 30s? Is traditional what was popular when a person was growing up, or before? It may be a bit easier to define when talking firearms as traditional would be blue steel and wood furniture, but I am not sure with knives.

Definitions are always difficult… “Traditional” as in long established? But how long?

My personal definition: knife models/patterns that have been reasonably popular since back in the days when current generation of grandfathers were kids.

Hence, with an average age of 30 for becoming fathers, current young grandfathers were born around 60 years ago, and wanted knives when they were say ten. That makes the threshold half a century, or currently 1972 😉

Edit: just read the traditional forum rules, realising there are more specific definitions at large here, lol. So I’ll refer to those instead 😎
