What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thrifty Thursday but would have worked for Wooden Wednesday too ... and I'm not joking

That's a beauty. I love the blade profile.

Looks like it rides comfortably in your hand. Very nice.

Thanks guys !!! :) ... I like it better than my Opinels only because of the handle shape.
The rounder Joker handle heel doesn't poke into the palm of my hand and flat sides make it more comfortable to hold and carry.

I went out to bring in a couple of Cherokee Chocolate®️ termaters for our BLT sammiches for supper, and couldn’t help bringing this Dominico in also.View attachment 1910073 According to Vik’s kitchen scale, it weighs 2 pounds, and 2.5 ounces. Camillus #1 Hawkbill pruner for scale.

I used the hawk to decapitate 10 or 12 heads of cauliflower, got them washed, chopped up, parboiled and packed away in the freezer.
Tomorrow, I really need to get on these tomatoes. I literally have wheelbarrows full.
I’ll can juice, sauce, and salsa, and freeze whole ones.

Today’s totes have their edges touched up, sticky residues from salad greens cleaned off, blades and joints lightly oiled with Norton’s, and tomorrow’s completely random totes are already in my blue jeans.
Whoa! Now that’s a tomato! 😯😯😯
You might want to get you one of them liftin’ belts before you harvest the full haul!
😎

Same old knife, same old backdrop

My son is turning 10 in a couple of weeks. One day last week when I got home he said he wanted to look through all my knives with me, which was pretty cool. My wife and I decided it was time for him to get his own knife. I hope I did okay; there are so many choices it is hard to pick.

By the way, after looking through all my knives, he determined that my Urban Jack has “the perfect spear blade.”
I think you made an excellent choice!
When my son crossed over to Boy Scouts I did a lot of researching and searching for a good Scout knife (suffice it to say the offerings at the scout shop did not impress me). I wanted it to be something he could actually use, and that I could easily replace should it end up lost in the woods … I finally landed on a Vic Alox Farmer. It turned out to be a perfect scout knife and some of the other boys even followed his lead …
Well, he’s 22 now and still has that knife, and it functions every bit as well as it did the day I handed it to him.
I’m guessing you’re gonna be just excited as he is when he gets that gift!
Good stuff - congratulations to you both!

Handsome pair buddy :)
Thanks a bunch, Jack!!! :)👍

I'm a huge fan of a pocket knife and a fixed blade duo, very cool combo for you; great shot of your Ukrainian FB too!:D👍👍

Thanks, Jack; I thoroughly enjoyed the vacation, even if I'm not as "active" as I used to be while there.

It sure seems to be heading in that direction. It’s with me again today. 😎👍View attachment 1910317
The 18 is such a good pattern, I'm glad it's one of the patterns Case decided to try with s35vn. I'm tempted. It just needs a punch ;)
Great photo Mike, those covers are beautiful. I parted with mine almost a year ago…probably made a mistake. 🤦‍♂️😄
Thanks Todd :)
Its, by far, my most oft carried GEC 🤓
