What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I'm playing "pick a post per page" with this thread for Monday and Tuesday (I'm a geezer mostly living in the past).

A pair of proven workers, Jeff!:cool::thumbsup:

Cool photo, John! Sorry that slimy swashbuckler made off with your ebony WCLF.:cool::cool:
I didn't even realize it was Talk Like a Pirate Day; I'd be in favor of Play Baseball Like a Pirate Day if I could play like Honus Wagner of Roberto Clemente! 🤓

I've had a few Walk Like a Pirate days lately! o_O 🤣 ;)
...
Got my Hartshead Barlow, and a Random Tuesday Ancient :) Have a good day folks

😁 Hope you didn't have to walk the plank like a pirate, Jack!
Brilliant brace of Barlows! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Started the week with a couple of Catts. :)
Cool Catts, looking for a kitty,
Gonna look in every corner of the city!:thumbsup:🤓

4 or 5 passes on a strop and it slices through tomatoes with barely a touch.

I haven't seen a knife like that before; you sure have a lot of interesting cutlery, Mike!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, Gary, I didn't know that about Ty Cobb. Maybe I'll look at the blade etch a bit differently now, a game changer. 👍:)
Knowledge Is Power!🤓

We have been taking advantage of dry weather to make hay. Totin’ a GEC 74 Heartland Clip in Ebony. It has one of GEC’s all time best blade designs.

@Travman, you must have quite the reputation totin’ those huge knives around town Travis! What do people say when you pull out that Whaler to cut open a package? Well done, beautiful knives!
Made a lot of hay as a kid on a dairy farm in Michigan decades ago, but we never made hay in September. And I knew New Holland was an equipment company, but never saw much New Holland product back where I grew up. Fantastic ebony 74!!:cool::thumbsup:

My Language Arts students have the same problem. 🤣
Yeah, if I were in classes now, I'd probably be a remedial student. o_O🤓

Beautiful red color on that bone!!! 👍🏻

Love the anchor shield on your Watchman, Gary.
Back at it with my usual Barlow, paired with the Otter.

Thanks for the anchor compliment, Jeremy, but I see you might be biased! Love your Otter Ankermesser!🤓

Not much on the calendar today. Might head to town later this afternoon but not sure. Yesterday was a hoot!!! We took Coco and Utah to the Vet for their shots and clipping their nails. It was a breaks on event from the get-go. I haven't carried this Case 6292 Texas Jack in some time so, regardless of what we end up doing today I'll be carrying it. Corned beef hash and french toast for breakfast.

Terrific Texas Jack, ED! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
I like corned beef hash and I like French toast, but I've never considered having them together! You may have enriched my life!

I'll be sporting this Case/Tony Bose Eureka Jack that has been beautifully recovered by @jsdistin with stabilized mammoth ivory, along with the wonderful pocket slip sbh06 sbh06 made. :D

Nobody told me I was attending an art gallery; WOW!!:cool::cool:

That top knife is a Top Knife, Joshua!!:thumbsup::cool:

This showed up today. Little bit of blade rub, but all pivots have a nice solid feel. After knocking of the burrs this should be a lovely pocket knife.

I am enjoying traditional knives more and more everyday.

Really cool that you still have that one Gary :) It's in surprisingly good shape too :)
...
Carrying my 2018 Guardians SFO, and a French Alpin :) Have a great day everyone

Thanks, Jack; I wish the same could be said about me!:thumbsup:🤓
That ebony pair makes it an elegant Wooden Wednesday for you!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

It's always a joy to see your original first knife. Not many can claim to still carry the same knife from their youth. 🤠
Especially when "their youth" was SO many years ago! Thanks, John.;)😁

Thanks Gary :D
That Old Hickory was just released by Ontario. The first kitchen knife that I ever felt any affinity for was an Old Hickory, so it was a given that I'd have try out the folder. Its like OH's kitchen knives. Cheap, a little crude, stout, made in the U.S.
Here it is with a Sodbuster Jr.
OH Sodbuster 1.JPG

My original Old Hickory. It was in a house I was renting with three other guys in Hancock, Michigan circa 1980. I liked it so much I absconded with it when I moved 🥷

The view from our TV-room last evening as the sun was setting and shining on the hill behind our house after a light rain.

We're headed to town shortly after a week hold up on the homestead. Usual stops - Post Office, Wagon Wheel Cafe, Holiday Market, pharmacy, etc.. I keep coming back to a Case Sowbelly so, that's what it'll be today. 2-eggs up, hash brown potatoes, dark toast, and sausage links at the Wagon Wheel coming up.
