What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It's been awhile since I've been able to view this thread, and there has been some great knives and terrific pictures too. And the need for prayers and best wishes to Ed, Peter and Robert. I hope all goes well for you guys, good thoughts coming from NE PA.

As I was reading everyone's posts I was enjoying not only the knives but the pocket watches, pens, and even a Scripto Vu lighter  As a crazy collector, I've managed to get into watches (too many) and lighters (don't ask), but not pens (yet) though I did love my old Parker cheapo fountain pens, at least until they leaked all over me :p

So I figured I'd post the knives I carried today, I had my AG Russell 2.5" ultimate pen lockback in abalone and pearl to work...darn, no pic. I just put my Case/Bose Coffin Jack in my left pocket when I got home...nope, didn't get a chance to take a pic yet...and a small yellow/black bone Case pen knife in my watch pocket...that's three strikes!

Well, I did get my Seiko chronograph back from the watchmaker's yesterday, just in time for my birthday. And my wife and sons gave me the JBF Champlin Eureka jack yesterday too, but I don't have a pic of that yet either...
The only pic I can post is of my watch, sorry!

I really need to set aside a couple minutes and take some photos...

Cheers,
Griff

Did you like my subtle message? :)
Indeed I did, very clever! ;)
(Why book a plane ticket, when you can hop from one continent to another by way of snack foods? :D )

Also, a few more shots of my new oldie.

This one's been through a lot, evidently, and today was no exception. 10 hours of stripping wire, cutting insulation, slicing rope & string, conquering packing material, and vanquishing vittles! This old warhorse has a few miles yet to go.

Ed, we must be brothers or something. Cats that could be siblings, we enjoy traditional knives , and fly radio controlled gliders. At least I think I remember you post something about RC gliders.

Yup, that would be me. I haven't flown in the last year, but I still have my stuff and am planning to do some more building this summer. I am not into the latest and greatest high tech composite planes; I fly balsa, foam, and glass construction. I am Ejett on RCGroups.com. If I remember correctly, there is or was a fairly active RC glider club in Austin. Not much of that kind of thing here in North LA, but I enjoy flying with my boys or by myself. I've made trips to Houston a couple times, and to Little Rock once.

That's one of my better photos of Ms. Cinco. She's got "thumbs" as you can see on her left front foot in that photo. Thus her name "Cinco".

I guess I need to put a knife in this post, so this one is what I'm thinking about carrying tomorrow.

Than I guess my memory is not too bad. I think it was a sophisticated lady or gently lady. I have not flown much myself in awhile. I have tried my hand at balsa and built a Limit EX and have slermaled a few that i did not build. I have built numerous foam ships. My favorites to fly around here are the Moth and on lite days the Alula or Raider. I know a few guys from the group here but have not met with them at their field. They seem to be mainly into tow and discus launch but a few of them fly slope which is what I enjoy most.

One of my best friends is a big helicopter guy and so I dabble in it as well.

Small world huh. I haven't hung out in RCGroups for years. I miss all the VTPR guys!

Why thank you Gev. Never owned any stag before let alone the GEC 25 frame. I am liking both and must thank Kirk for pointing out the drop point on these little guys. Perfect all around blade shape but I am sure I need to try a sheepsfoot one as well ;)

Great three finger grip and the stag just feels so solid in hand. I dont think you could loose your grip on this knife even if you wanted to and its so pocket friendly. Between this and the 33's I have coming I would say I have a small knife bug right now.

Blaine, That one is a dandy. I like the brown jigged bone the best, esp. when it looks old and used. Nice snag... I've got a few myself.

Outstanding!

my oops, dropped the knife down a hollow stump, the hole was about 4' deep, too small to climb into, and the wood too thick to break.. minor gasp, then some reflection

If you plan to go around dropping knives down stump holes, it helps to use Carbon Steel
