What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Looking good, Todd. Sounds like you found a new favorite. 👍
Thanks Bart, maybe. 😊
I tend to carry smaller knives on the weekend if I’m not working. Today it was this peanut.

Love those synthetic Ebony handles Bart. Is that one CV?
😎👍

Nice stag Jack, didn’t know you were Bucs fan. 🤣
View attachment 1993803Sorry for the background. Some color for a frigid morning.

Edit..dyed maple burl.
Couple of beauties Bob. 😎👍
Good morning friends. Two favorites for Sunday. Hope everyone is doing okay

Great paring Pete. 😎👍
Family arrives mid week. I'm enjoying the calm before the storm.

Same here, enjoy your storm…I mean family Rachel. 🤣👍

Thanks Todd. At least your teams cannot lose. Have an enjoyable storm.

Spent an hour just before lunch on snow shoveling, then came back in to see if I could pick a favorite post in this thread for each page posted on Friday. I was surprised to see that the thread had only 5 pages Friday. Here are my "winners".

Have a great weekend everyone.

You've got that captivating Case canoe all squared away, Tim!:cool::thumbsup:

I put the little Eye Brand mini trapper in my pocket today. I know it supposed to be fall but it feels like winter here in west central Illinois. High of 27 today. Something about winter and stag. Big pot of chili on the stove.View attachment 1992267
I don't have any Schlieper knives, but I sure like their Eye Brand logo!:cool::cool:
Are you making your chili in that cast iron Dutch oven? My wife used to make chili in a pot like that, but I like chili so much that she's switched to making it in an "industrial soup pot" with capacity about 3-4 gallons.

We've had a lot of rain this week, but I'm hoping it's dry enough for me to go for a walk tomorrow :) Going to take these 3 with me ;) Have a great weekend folks

Classic trio, Jack; those avian raptors shouldn't bother you while you have those knives!:thumbsup::cool:
But that Buck 110 might have you appearing to be limping, rather than striding, through Yorkshire unless you carry it on your body's vertical midline!🤓

My old & used schrade.

That's a splendid lockback - desirable drop point blade and perfect size!:thumbsup::cool:
A Schrade 5OT (or maybe 5UH), is currently at the top of my knife wish list.

Handsome knife, Bob!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Stellar stag, and I always prefer rounded bolsters; looks like at least the closed blade has a sunk joint. What pattern is it? I'm guessing it has blades at opposite ends and might be an improved muskrat.

Thank you Gary for your kind remarks. My pictures are more enlightening than my words. As you see, the mark side is slightly drab.View attachment 1994155View attachment 1995077

Nice pair of Jacks Jeff !😊
What part of Kentucky did you spend over night ? 🤔
Thanks, Rob!
Bowling Green. A bit too far for you to have heard the Civil Defense sirens that always go off when we roll in.

Awesome combo.
We were walking the doggoes this morning and went by an estate sale; my better half took both dogs on the seven blocks home while I had the vise in one hand and a paper bag with all this other stuff in the other hand.

My two usual suspects were with me for this.

The big knife we bought is a Victorinox; the pruner / lino knife seems to be unlabeled. I asked about pocketknives, but the lady laughed and said, "I have seven grandsons. All the pocketknives got claimed already."

The shears have a little flag with "DCC" or "CCC" in it, and some text I haven't quite deciphered followed by "Reading PA".

On the whole, an unexpected but fun score this morning.
Best way to aquire tools. 👌
I have a couple of those linoleum knives around. Good beaters for saving your good ones.

My knife of choice today became a “Survival” knife, it’s lucky just by chance it’s fairly long & slender unlike some of the shorter stouter stuff I’ve been carrying lately.
The situation began just a short time ago when I was served food without a knife 😮
I was about to ask for one when I thought about what was in my pocket.

Emergency over.

And it worked better than a supplier knife would have done & just goes to show how even a humble “Traditional “ can be a Survival knife. I must just add though, I didn’t notice any Zombies lurking around as this all played out.....
Worked well😎
It's only gonna get worse. Here in NSW this month all single use plastics were banned, bags, straws, plastic cutlery, plates to name a few. A sak comes in real handy😉😉
