What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Heavy Metal Friday.

Last Saturday I found out just how quickly a 2021 Subaru Ascent with Michelin CrossClimate 2 tires can slow from 60 mph to 0 mph, thanks to a deer crossing the road between Canon City and Colorado Springs CO, after seeing the Christmas lights at the Royal Gorge Bridge. Everybody was instantly thrown against their seatbelts and felt their butts lift off their seats, but the ABS and tires did an outstanding job.

It felt/looked like less than 110-115 feet! I swear it stopped faster than my WRX on all season or snow tires (just not as short as when I have my Pilot Sport 4s tires installed).
I have a Crosstrek. That Eyesight system is great. I especially like the way it transforms the cruise control into a truly useful feature. Set your speed as usual, but it sees slower vehicles in your lane, and backs off to your preferred following distance. And if there’s something stopped in front of you, or a deer or idiot pedestrian, it will stop before you hit it, as you know.
I am not too fond of the default lane keeping and steering nudges, though. Mail carrier or dead skunk on the lane, I don’t need the Lane Departure idiot light, or being nudged right back at it.

And this is the Traditional Tote Thread, this Buck 119 is what my Subaru totes, jammed down next to my seat.0D5AE5A2-C788-4E7F-A2FF-3C1A0786272F.jpeg

Thank you, John. I'm looking forward to this year's forum knife, and can hardly wait to compare it with the clip/pen combination from 2013.

The first thing I'd do in your situation is test if a fridge magnet sticks.
Heal up fast!
I better be a strong magnet to get past all that gristle and muscle. He is the Chunk, after all. 😎

I never got around to plowing yesterday as the shoveling dang near put me down. Can't put it off today though. With more snow coming tomorrow, I've got to at least clear our front driveway and maybe our back driveway and back road today. Anyway, I'll tote this small Lambfoot today along with another knife I haven't decided on yet. Ham chopped up into small pieces so I can chew/gum it and eggs for breakfast.

That's a very nice coat on your lamb Ed. Good luck with the plowing.

Thank you Jean-Marc, the same to you my friend :)

Thanks Mr P, I've had it a good few years now :)

Great posting of your lamb Jack.

Sorry for my lack of attention, Mr. P … 😞
My ‘sleepy cats’ are actually an homage to the Lion of Lucerne … depicting the stone commemorative to the fallen Swiss Guard that lost their lives defending the Tuileries Palace at the onset of the French Revolution.
Here is the actual monument …

They are a modification to the Spartan pattern, done by a swiss company called Boegli. (some of the descriptions you find online state they are made by Victorinox but I believe that to be incorrect especially since the online retailer that sold me the silver one credited Boegli, and they come in a plain black box marked “Swiss made”. Further research discloses that Boegli is also a watchmaker that offers pocket watches that are similarly adorned.)
Ok, so there’s more than you ever wanted to know about these two …

Great to see the lions again

Still living in the past - but I've landed in Monday and Tuesday of this week.

Thanks Gary. Too bad it’s not purple! 😄👍

I wish it worked like that all the time. 😉👍

That's deep, Todd! 😲😁

Well the trails were not friendly today....after a hosing, knife and bike will get a lube job.View attachment 2001010
That yellow single-blade is a handsome knife, Bob!:thumbsup::cool:

back to my 90 year old Winchester senator todayView attachment 2001066
Superb senator! The bone is astounding!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I used to ride a Trek or Kestrel Bicycle between 20 and 30 miles a day, for about five years. Went back to walking after that.
The bright yellow folder looks great for the trail !:)
20-30 miles per day on a bike sounds mighty impressive to me!:cool::thumbsup:

Christmas came early! The porch is a wonderful place. A good friend generously gifted me this black box Winchester 3964 Stockman and surprised me with an additional Lambsfoot! What a great pair! I’m humbled and greatly appreciate it! These will see a ton of use. Thankful!

Cool photo, Todd. But I was totally disoriented by a longitude line, and was looking for the "I" in the inscription "I AM ERICA". Then I thought , "Maybe Erica is a morning person, and the message is "A.M. ERICA". Then I finally noticed the map behind the letters, and thought, "Never mind." :eek:o_O:rolleyes:

First-class yellow 301, Frank! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Had my RED IRJ today, and my degree came in the mail.
Congrats on earning the degree, Jon!:thumbsup::cool: Always a plus if you can manage all your business!🤓

Going to be quarantined for the next few days as my wife having spent the holiday with my daughter in NOLA tested positive for COVID19 yesterday. I stayed home and went to my son’s house for thanksgiving. Thankfully we are both fully vaccinated and she’s experiencing mild symptoms. We both managed to avoid covid for the last three years. Figured it was going to happen sooner or later. These two will go in my vest pocket today. 😃

That's a bummer!:( I hope you both get healthy ASAP with minimal disruptions.

I just got this one in trade (thanks, Drew!) and put it right into the pocket. Just under 4" closed.
