Schrade began to make them, but then Camillus was given the contract. The change came about because the Schrades were difficult to fix under warranty, whereas, the Camillus version was constructed to be more warranty friendly.( history of buck knives chap.10).That's nice; Much better than the grind Buck uses now.
Schrade era? Did Schrade make the buck stockman knives? I thought Camillus did.

Two sweet versions Paul.In a rush to leave this morning and grabbed these 2 BF knives. Took them out to look them over and realized they are similar but so different at the same time. Not a bad pair to accompany me today on this cold day at work. Won't use them much today but still fun to fondle lol. Have a great day everyone.

Thanks brotherAwesome 15 Pete.![]()
Thank you and yes, I am being sarcastic to those who must have a certain set of criteria for their stag. As you so eloquently stated the characteristics that make each piece of stag unique with it's own personality. If one opens one's mind to the interesting aspects to the piece.Jiki - Actually, that's a very nice piece of stag. The figuring/canyons/crevices/pattern/bark, etc. is even throughout the length of the cover. Even without the dark coloring associated with most stag, it's eye catching.
Thanks Bob, couldnβt agree more.Fine combo Jeremy....sweet handle on lamb.
Two fantastic knives, Harry.Yesterday I carried a Northfield # 12 in Stag in a Slip and today I am carrying a Northfield # 13 in a Slip

Thanks Todd. As we have discussed, the best trades are the ones where both parties walk away happy and I think that was the case here.Your new WT is drawing a crowd Bart.

Thank you very much my friends .Two fantastic knives, Harry.
There is no Ugly Stag IMHO !!! Some is just prettier than others . Your's does look pretty nice without all that Burnt look . Was it worn off or cleaned off ???
