It surely does. It holds up well for me because I always have it in a slip and never cut anything more intimidating than a Granny Smith with it!Thanks kindly Jeremy.
A match made for the pocket. The burlap micarta seems to hold up well Jon.

Yeah, we’re one of those folks.Good morning. I’m glad to have electricity still. We’ve had some strong winds. Lots of folks without power. Going to get my taxes done today and pay my bill. I’m always glad to get my taxes off my to do list so I can concentrate on looking at pictures and learning about knives here.

This is what off gassing ‘lloid can do to carbon steel.

Great news, Ed. Glad you made it back safely, driving in a white out…Wasn't a bad trip yesterday until we were on the way home and hit very heavy snow about thirty miles out from Alturas and then it was very close to a white out all the way home. The doctor said everything looked good with no signs of the cancer returning. He set me up with checkups every four months which makes me feel better. Back to business, it looks like another day of shoveling which calls for a Sowbelly Stockman. This one should do nicely. Never know when ya might have to castrate a snow flake. Sausage, eggs up, and soft toasted raisin-cinnamon toast for breakfast.

We get occasional update text messages from the (No) Power Company. The last one
said this ~
“ComEd: We know you are still without power and we appreciate your patience. Crews continue to work around the clock and we still expect 80% of outages in your region to be restored by Thursday evening (2/23/23) and the majority of the remaining outages restored by Saturday evening (2/25/23). We will update you as more information becomes available about your outage. Text PAUSE to stop texts for 72 hours or STOP to stop all texts.“
So maybe by Saturday night? Our problem is that we live out away from much population, so the crowded areas to the east get attention first.
Here’s our dining room table where we ate supper last night.View attachment 2092903

I had some other things on my mind, so did not bother swapping either of my knives. They’ll do.View attachment 2092904

When is the last time you saw a +- 75 year old knife that has never been sharpened or used?
I am going to have to segregate this celluloid.View attachment 2092937This is what off gassing ‘lloid can do to carbon steel.View attachment 2092952
Maybe one a these days I should re-scale it…
I have a five h.p. 2000 watt generator going, powering the sump pump, refrigerator, internet and wifi, and several chargers. And we have a creek for water for flushing toilets.View attachment 2092907

Like Mr P. said, they’re handier than you might think.I'm starting to prefer my #47 harvester over straight edge knives for my typical EDC tasks which include opening packages and bags of chips.

As I always said regarding the hull of my canoes (the floating kind). "Those aren't scratches, those are memories". Embrace the memories.I've been relatively inactive for a bit, we moved cities at the beginning of the year for my wife's job and we've been in a a short term rental while waiting on our house (fingers crossed for next week!) that being said I only have a few knives everything else is in boxes at our old house. Funny enough I wasn't feeling super attached to my bunny knife and was considering passing it along when I first got it....buuut back when I first opened it my wife called for me and without thinking I slipped it in my pocket...with my keys and scratched up the bolsters on itso it was mine since then

Ha! I spy an Evolution Grip S18. And the red one is???Not toting today, but will tote this tomorrow to get my mom’s garden ready for Spring. I live 20 minutes from one of Victorinox’s North American HQs, and they used to have these yearly warehouse sales. Tons of people jammed into an airplane hangar size warehouse for the 50-70% off prices. It was an absolute madhouse, with 1000’s of people in attendance, which sadly ended in 2021. When I saw the massive, patently ridiculous ‘Gardener’ model for $15 at one of the warehouse sales, I just had to have it!
