What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Versatile trio of knives, Jeff! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: It's great that you volunteer to cook once a month for that breakfast, but you've run into what I think is a common problem with "shared" kitchens: not everyone agrees on best practices for kitchen care/maintenance.o_O Shoot, after 38 years of marriage (as of the first of next month), my wife and I still have occasional disputes about kitchen procedures.:rolleyes:

It all seemed so sudden; maybe Jack has a semi-legitimate claim to the throne and the powers that be just wanted to diffuse the situation.

You're amazing, Dan! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: Not only can you get those chickadees to come sit on your knife, but somehow you also boost their confidence to the point that a tiny bird like that thinks it can swallow those relatively enormous peanuts!😲

That IS a notable blade etch! :thumbsup:🤓:thumbsup: Where did that knife come from? Some kind of advertising knife for a festival or tavern?

Do you release each fish as soon as you land it, or do you release big batches at the same time? If you release right away, maybe you're catching the same famished and unintelligent crappie 25 times! 😁 (You can probably tell that I almost never fish.)

That's a delightful dozen! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Superior stag, Bob, and I admire its rufous coloration! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Gotta admit that Eastwood has a better singing voice than Lee Marvin. 🤓
But one of my favorite songs in Paint Your Wagon is Marvin singing "I Was Born Under a Wandering Star":
Wheels are made for rollin',
Mules are made to pack.
I never seen a sight that didn't look better lookin' back.

Your stag Dixie stockman is magnificent! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Looks great in ebony, Frank! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: My favorite feature of that pattern is that it's a stockman with a spearpoint main blade.

I admire a man with a plan for the week! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup: (Especially when it includes the underrated Victorinox Pocket Pal.)

Thanks, Bob; I finished grading final exams and submitted course grades last week Wednesday, I think. :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: That was my last time. I've basically been "doing school" from one side of the desk or the other, since I was 5 years old, and I was pretty good at it and enjoyed it the vast majority of the time. I'm currently having some "separation anxiety" about the end of my career.:eek:

🤓:thumbsup:

That looks like a dependable duo, Jeff! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

I think the Pocket Pal has capable blades, and it's not as small as I originally thought. Closed length is 3.3" (84 mm), and the main blade is just over 2" (52 mm). On the other hand, the 61OT I posted is a big stockman at 4"closed with a 3" clip main.
I wish I had the wherewithal and skills to pilot a pontoon boat around, but that photo was taken on the dock of the "resort" on Lake Huron where we rent a cottage each summer, and the pontoon boat belongs to the owners of the cottages.

Couple of beauties, Steve! That Camillus reminds me of the 61OT I posted earlier in the week. :thumbsup::cool::cool:

I've got a single-blade version of that "barrel knife" with which I'm very pleased! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

When you're right, you're right! 🤓:thumbsup::cool:

Appreciate your comments, my friend!

Did you say you’re retiring? But you already retired last year! Let’s hope it sticks this time. The same thing hapened to a guy I used to work with. He hadn’t been retired for long when they begged him to come back as a trainer, and vacation fill-in guy. Offered him more money than he’d been making, along with promises of “strictly part time”, “ make your own schedule”, etc. Within a year, he was working more hours than before he retired.

You do know that you’ll no longer be able to say Hump Day, and TGIF, right?
What’s your early impression of the Electrician?
I hope you like it as much as I do mine!
I have this old pruner in my pocket today. Something about this old specimen just speaks to me.
Yeah, old Hawks are cool.

Not carried, but used in the kitchen last night ~ the Green River that sunknife sunknife handled and gave to me. It makes a very fine food knife.79181A00-6C65-4797-A8F0-DE034BDAD93B.jpeg
The Trillium, aka:Jack In The Pulpit is blooming. This same plant popped up in my side yard by the creek about 15 years ago, and I’ve been carefully mowing around it ever since. Now, it aears to have multiplied.4C917C24-0D4B-43B8-919C-76C910591EA9.jpeg
Totin my Schrade Walden 163, and the latest Forum Knife. It did not do much other than open some bags of collard and beet seeds. But it’s silly name reminded me to check all of my fencing. There’s at least one rabbit’s nest full of voracious vermin out front, and for sure more. Those things breed like…bunnies.64C952B0-358D-40BB-82B4-F360B886E37F.jpeg

Overall very good. Its a big substantial knife. Build quality is above excellent. Its certainly departure from the normal TL-29. Nothing wrong with that. My only dislke is the big camel hump on the safety catch for the E-Balde. I can live with it but I dont like it. It would have worked just as well at half that size. :thumbsup:🤠
Yeah, old Hawks are cool.
Indeed! :thumbsup: 🤠

Early start today....I hope everyone can enjoy the day.View attachment 2180684
Really nice covers on that May Bob. I’m curious…how does the fit/finish stack up to a late model AWS. I have a recent AWS that has gaps, but is honestly a really nice weekend warrior. How much of an upgrade is the May? He almost has me sold just with the brass bolster…but I’m curious about the build.
Castlewood, Cadet and copper …
