I gotta say I’m surprised Amy Winehouse is on your playlist Ed. I hope you can rest up this week.Man-Oh-Man !! Took the mounting hardware for the front-loader (winch, support arms, mounting plates, etc.) off our garden tractor yesterday and am suffering this morning. I didn't have an air compressor in the shed we keep it in so, I did it all with hand tools (wrenches, sockets, ratchets, screwdrivers, etc.) Big mistake for me at my age (going on eighty in August) and not in ship-shape shape. Sore and stiff is the phrase today. Took me three and a half hours when just a couple/three years ago (pre jaw surgery) I'd have been able to do it in an hour and a half easily. We were going to town today for lunch and grocery shopping but in the words of one of my all time favorites "Amy Winehouse"; "I Won't Go - No, No, No,"!!! I'm gonna carry this Ebony standard Lambfoot to chicken eye and coon finger today while I'm sitting in my recliner and doing absolutely nothing. Coffee and a cinnamon roll for breakfast.

Fire-brewed Stroh's was one of my go-to beers 50 years ago! They still make Stroh's? Haven't had one in about 40 years!
Good to hear that nothing seems to be broken; best wishes for continued recovery!...
Thanks. No obvious fracture. Still making a little more progress each day, so we'll watch and see how things go.
This weeks pocket and belt stuff.

Thanks again fellas
Bart, sounds like you and your son are wise beyond your years!Haha! That actually does happen from time to time, which is why we go early in the morning before it gets crowded. Of course I always have to watch out so I don’t get hit by my son.

Thanks for the info on the knife and your "prep routine".It was a small but serious fitting issue that showed up in use with lateral blade play. Stephane at Knives of France {shameless plug} exchanged it no problem, and I trust Sabot took it back no problem.

It is a well planned and built knife, but is not for those who can't stand to see light by a backspring. The small blade thunks open nicely, but much of its walk is stiff and it needs to be pushed closed. I'll be interested to see if it loosens up over time, but I don't mind if it doesn't.
I've sprayed it well with PB Blaster, followed by gun oil. Then I plunged it in microwaved vinegar to get a thorough, light patina started. (Even the bolsters are carbon steel, though I'm not sure about the springs.) Then a good wash in soft water and dish detergent, then 3-in-1 oil. (There's no oiling principle at work there; there's just gun oil on the workbench and 3-in-1 in the kitchen.)
I'll show it off at the farm Wednesday.
Thanks for the mini-review of your CS Pinch, Mike.Yes the shield is gone. There is also a very fine crack running through the handle where the shield should be and various gouges and a couple of small chumks gone. Somebody rode it hard. I fished it out of the bay for 30 bucks. Cleaned it up (a lot) and its got decent action with a solid lock up. A big plus, unlike a Case I recently posted in the Case thread, is that it's not, "Too pretty to use"

Thanks for the reply. It's an old sprinkler pipe that ran underground next to the walkway. After jackhammering up the walkway, running the sod cutter to remove the lawn, and rototilling the dirt that remains, that pipe is exposed (and broken in several spots). We're doing entirely different irrigation, so we aren't mourning the damage to that pipe too hard.

Sounds like a kids' book, Jack: Big Rose and the Big Weed. Thanks David![]()
