GEC 59 will be in my pocket tomorrow as I head to Tennessee. After today, I'll be mostly offline for the next week, or maybe two.
I bought the 59 mostly because it was a splitback and I find the design interesting. I'm liking this one more than I thought I would. Always nice when that happens :)
Totally post worthy 😃

Safe travels Mike :)

Different artisans, but both very fine examples of jigged bone. 👌

It’s sweet, Bart! Thanks for the story.
That’s kind of how I got my 1955 Gibson J45. We had just gotten our bonus checks, and my co-worker and fellow guitar nut and I visited the Vintage room at one of the Guitar Centers.
Just good timing ~ we were relatively caught up in bills, and my loving wife agreed that if I didn’t buy it now, I might never get the chance.

Glad you found a good one, Greg!
Sounds like fun.

When you’re eating some factory made version of dinner, put it on a plate, throw away the plastic, and pretend you cooked it yourself!
Thanks, Jeff. Sounds like an awesome vintage guitar. Sometimes you just have to be ready to jump on a deal when it comes up. It helps to have an understanding wife.

I carried my wharncliffe trapper yesterday. Not sure what I’ll carry today.

Great pair Mike. The same thing happened to me; bought the split back mainly for the design but it’s actually an excellent carry - the spear is large enough to actually put in some work too.
:thumbsup::D
Safe travels Mike :)
Thanks, Jack :)

This Case knife is definitely as well made as any GEC.
Case seems to have done a really nice job on the single blade sowbellies. I have two in ebony and agree completely, both are as well made as anything I have

I went around to talk bikes with my friend today,as it was raining I went in my car.

He was cleaning his Kawasaki its the same model as mine (he has a bakers dozen of nice bikes) so I put on my Kawasaki cap.

He serves a mean coffee (or maybe its his wife who makes it) as you can see I had mine in a Royal Enfield mug.

I took my Pioneer X and ended up using the awl.

The knife isn't black I used a marker pen on it as it looked boring in silver... 😁

I know the screwdriver is a bit shall we say bright, but it was only £4 from the antique/rummage shop yesterday.

I think it was to encourage woman to do a bit of DIY, as I said to my ex I dont mind cooking if you want to wash my bike for me (it was always a no and I ended up doing both anyway) 😂😂😂

Its allready tightened up the handle on my frying pan,I shall leave it in the house for small jobs it will save me going out to the shed. 😇
