PSA Carb floats should NOT have gas in themHopefully my JB Weld fix will hold until the new one is delivered
Y'all have a great day

Yeah, this one is plastic unfortunately. Its going to rain all weekend, so I'm just gonna chuck the old one and wait for the new one. Better safe than sorrySolder works better - if you can find the hole(s) or crack(s). (resin or acid flux, I've used both to repair floats with no issues.)
If the float is copper, a soldering iorn (or wood burner's wide tip) will heat it enough to slow the solder. No need for a torch.
JB MIGHT dissolve, which can give a massive head hurt getting it out of the jets and all them itty bitty carb passages.
(don't ask me: "How do you know that?")
Solder also weighs less than JB, so it won't/can't cause the float to sink, flooding the engine, and can be a permanant repair.![]()
Congratulations. Hope you two share many more.Just another summer day here in the City by the Bay! 39 and counting! On this day in the Presidential Suite of the Stanford Court on the top of Nob Hill I married my beautiful bride. Man what a party! And like I tell her every year, it seems like only yesterday. Giants play later and keeping me company will be the usual lamb and SAK. Have a great weekend folks!

Secret to a happy marriage ~ she lets you watch a ball game, and you let her do what she likes
Hope for many more!
Appreciate that, mate.
As I thought, have to schedule an extraction with an oral surgeon. Sigh…
