What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Great setting for your BF knife.šŸ‘Œ
May I ask what nectar of the gods you make?

Thank you buddy. Just went out to check on them as it was 30.5 this morning, and just snapped the photo as an afterthought.

These are little Champagne grapes I planted back in the early 80s. Colder it gets, the sweeter they get.

My wife just used to called it ā€œWoman Medicineā€.

Recipe is very simple:

Crush and strain, half gallon glass jars or quart glass mason jars, partial packet of live yeast, 1/4 cup rock sugar.

Cool dark place to store it, loosen the lid a bit to allow for fermentation, smell the aroma starting around Thanksgiving, it’s ready by Christmas.

No problem. It’s an Ibanez SR600 (not sr600e). Got a sweet deal on it from a guy here in town and it sounds amazing!

Nice. I’ve got a 5 string Ibanez, but I can’t remember the model number.

Wishing everyone a great weekend

Love that pic, Jack.

When I carry these two it's like stepping back in time a hundred year's.

Very bovine pair. šŸ‚

Love that sunny Beer Scout. šŸ˜Ž

Yup, I ran at the surface to about 25 feet deep and everywhere in between. I think they recognized my boat and Realized the great fish slayer is back and they all swam off to hide;)

Only explanation. 😁

Sherman Boker and the Titusville lamb today.

Nice pair, Paul. I like the Damascus on that Boker.

This morning I noticed this guy just hanging out behind the house.

I wondered if he might be injured; while he was obviously keeping an eye on me, he didn’t seem skittish and made no move to get up even when I got closer. (I got close enough to take that chair down off the railing and get some closer pics.)

Eventually, after I had stepped back toward the house and Scout and I stood there for a bit so she could watch him, he got up and walked off, and didn’t seem hurt or anything. I guess he was just indifferent.

I’ve got my Albers Lamb and a #21 Bull Nose in my pocket today. Yesterday we got a new roof, after a full summer of going back and forth with the insurance company and roofing contractor. I had originally called out the contractor to look a minor issue, but he pointed out several spots where there was hail damage on the old shingles and suggested I called the insurance company. In the end we got about 2/3 of the cost to replace the whole roof covered by insurance. Considering the old roof was probably only a few years from needing to be replaced, I don’t think that’s too bad a deal.

Pretty buck. I'm starting to itch just looking at all the poison ivy!

Great photos Barrett. I wonder if someone is feeding your visitor?
Good news on the roofing seems.
Your Albers is shining brightly.šŸ‘Œ
Mike, your lockback is a sweet one.šŸ‘šŸ»

Just had Jimmy Dean hot sausage and eggs for breakfast. Was informed by my oncologist that he's leaving Klamath Falls, Oregon and relocating to Salem, Oregon - much too far (approx. 325 miles) for just a short office visit/check-up so will have to find another doctor. Pain in the ole patootie but I'll manage. CV Sowbelly today.

I’ve been meaning to take care of the weeds and stuff behind the house back there (honestly, it’s a space we don’t use very often, so it doesn’t get top priority when it comes to getting stuff done). I didn’t even realize there was poison ivy. 😳 I don’t think I’ve ever had a reaction to it, but still, I’ll take care now when I deal with it. My dad always had terrible reactions to poison ivy.

Thanks, Barrett. It is one of my favorites. I still can't bring myself to put patina on it. The only knife I have that I am extra careful with.

I’ve got a couple knives like that. I never really used a knife slip for anything until I got my Albers. 😁

Thanks, Bob. I wouldn’t be surprised. The area we live in, which is technically an island on Lake Minnetonka, is fairly densely populated, but also has some decent wooded areas between some of the houses and in a few larger spaces. We see deer occasionally (though this is the first one I’ve seen just lying around), foxes, lots of raccoons and other wildlife. If the deer are anything like the raccoons, they’re probably somewhat used to people being around.

A couple months back I was taking out the trash one night and when I opened the lid to the trash can, this big fat raccoon scrambled out of it, onto the top of the recycling can and did an arms-flailing belly flop into the yard before scrambling off into the trees. I followed him with my flashlight and saw there was another raccoon waiting there in the trees for him, and they both just stood there at stared at me for a while, as if they were waiting for me to leave so they could resume digging through my trash.
