What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Great choices, Steve! How are you liking that Proper? I've only handled one and it was very used. Seemed the pull was pretty light on that one. How does yours feel?
I like mine. The pull is about a "5". A tad heavier than a Buck 301/303/Rough Rider stockman's 3~4, and about the same as a Buck offshore 300 series, a 92/93mm Victorinox, and my Case 10375's "5" pull.

Well I made it the furthest from my house since the hospital today (by car).

All of an hour away went to one of my old home towns (we moved around a bit my dad was RAF).

Billy Barlow in my left pocket and detrmination in my heart.

I found some interesting knives.

Those 6 ivory handled beauties where NOS and only £15, I didnt buy them though as I had no use and I dont buy to sell.

Pretty swayback Will ☺️

What is the wood of the Tidioute handle?
Thanks Yann  Looks like I got beaten in the answer race....:)

It is what Osage-Orange looks like when new, a striking quite bright yellow. It soon morphs into a browner colour as in the 73 liner-lock. I don't have that Tidioute Viper any longer as I gave it away to help raise funds for the family of a fine collector here who died around 2014/15. They are a nice pattern in hand but due to the scarcity of GECs I've not been able to get hold of another since. The CASE Swayback Jack I gave away to a relative, the single-blade Swayback Gent is my preference, both are very well finished small knives as you know.

Regards, Will

And, a great duo it is! 👍
Thanks, Jim. 👍 As you can see from the pic the GEC has seen some use and carry, the Boker not as much. The Boker is pretty perfect in all aspects, I think I need to pocket it more often. :)

Marvelous looking Maserin, Greg! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks, Gary. 👍 It's one I don't regret purchasing, has solid lock up when open, blade deploys nicely and its pretty light weight for its size.
Mostly it stays in the door pocket of my truck and but it does come out and gets used. :)

It has Greg, and we’re set for some much warmer temps this coming week. Fantastic photo of those beauties. 😎👍
Thanks, Todd. 👍 I figured you might be experiencing as good or better temps down there in the more scenic and less crowded part of the state.
Pretty decent weather for this time in January, my friend. :)

I thought I'd tote around a couple older knives today. The Remington is as solid as any of my best knives. I took a chance on it on the big auction site about 7 or so years ago and wasn't at all disappointed when it arrived in the mail. I picked up the Catt at the badger blade show last spring, the bone, shield and pattern was more than I could resist.
I'm looking forward to the upcoming blade show and hanging out with the fine group of fellow forum members I met there last year. I may even look at some knives while there. :);)
