Hope all is well soon, This is just Amir SetbackI spent today at the hospital getting xrayed.
I was certain I’d broken some ribs and some bones in my elbow, but I escaped that. I am out of action for a while, though.
Just like my knife photo posting is out of action.
I am carrying a Schrade Walden 293 Trapper in brown jigged delrin, and my ELINOX Pioneer.
A little late, but just wanted to say I hope your recovery is speedy and the pain lets up soon.I wheeled it out of the way, and managed to tangle my feet in the running gear. Lost my balance, and fell over in rough gravel. My elbow was pinned against my ribcage, driving it into my ribs when I hit the ground. Hard.
I've been using postimage on a few other forums, so I just started using it here. As SteveC said, it's fairly easy to use, and you don't need to sign up for an account. It's not as easy as inserting images, like we've been doing here, but even with the extra steps it's not too bad. I'm sure that like most other photo hosting sites, the free part won't last forever, though. What third party photo sharing site do all of you prefer? Thinking ease of use and privacy.
Superb sowbellies, sir!View attachment 2511925
I'm taking the Yeti for a test drive over the next few days alongside the Case. It's a very nice knife. Super well done and excellent action.
The case sowbelly is pretty much permanently attached to me.... So we will see how it goes, lol!
Those are a couple of fine examples of the vintage I picture in my mind when I hear "Böker Barlow"!Boker barlow today![]()
I hope all was well with the visit. It's good to have a medical professional who's willing to discuss some "general crackpottery"!...Annual visit with Dr. B, the neuro who directed my recovery from paralysis 12 years ago. After Mayo Clinic told him what to do.
I’m working on my list of complaints, questions, and general crackpottery to talk to him about.
One of these....
Have a great Tuesday.

Literally golden oldies, Steve!
Impressive group of Taramundis!Hi gang,
Having recently de-acquired my previous EDC, I decided to return to one carried a while back I quite like. It's a traditional knife for sure.......in Spain. This is done by Pedro Bermudez and there's other posts about him I found easily.
The maker is pretty well known I'd bet........some bueno pieces both in looks and build quality.
I have one in colorful Dymondwood scales but will carry the natural wood instead.
These were generously presented to me from a good Spanish friend maybe 6-7 years ago. I mighta sent him bagels.
So 'tradition' over function this round. Very sharp and purty and unusual and fun to pull out.....which rarely happens. Besides,
The Swiss Army has my back! My previous blade du jour was a little more rugged, plus it opened with one hand.
Fantastic knives, Jeremy!
Words to live by, FC!Just gotta keep doin' it till it's done sometimes
I'd like to add my belated wishes for improvements in your health, Jack!Sorry for my absence, this past week. I've not been too well, and my internet speeds are slower than I am. I had to miss a few pages I'm afraidGot my Eric Lamb with me today
Have a good day folks

And so it was,

As the sunbeams lit the vale,
That the knives, at first just ghostly,
Turned a whiter shade of pale.

Hope things heal quickly, Jeff.I spent today at the hospital getting xrayed.

Impressive group of Taramundis!
My daughter lived in Spain for a few years and I went to visit her once. She took me to several cities in Spain, and the first knife I bought there was a Taramundi in a knife shop in Sevilla.
Fantastic knives, Jeremy!
But I can't believe how much I enjoy your stupid calendar jokes!
Probably not surprising for someone who loved elephant jokes and Tom Swifties back in the 1960s.

When I missed your posts for a couple of days, and then saw a comment that seemed to indicate you'd be away for a while, I did some "research" on The Porch and learned of several recent health challenges you've been facing. Fractured skull, infected tooth, mini stroke: at least you have the problems restricted to above your neck so far!Take care of yourself, especially as you recover from the mini stroke. I have a mini trapper, a mini copperhead, a mini copperlock and, despite the "mini" terminology, they're all serious knives; I suspect the same is true for "mini" strokes - one must treat them with respect!

I recently bought a Brother knife, with the motto "One knife One life" stamped on the blade, but you're actually living that dream!

I did’t say what happened because it was pretty UN-heroic. Careless.
But thanks much, Mike.
I never tell the truth about my lion-claw scar. The truth is that I fell.
I once saw a documentary on urban coyotes, do you ever find them around? If I recall correctly they said that there is a direct correlation between coyotes and less cats. Not sure whether that was predation or competition driven though.Another rainy day here in the City by the Bay! Not much on the agenda for today. Keeping me company with a nod to Wooden Wednesday my bog oak lamb and #16. Have a great day folks!
The guy sitting on the curb down the street comes every morning to feed a feral cat. I’ve asked why he just doesn’t take it home with him and explain that most of these animals are not spayed or neutered and that just compounds the problem. I’ve gotten no response.

Jack, we do indeed have them. I usually see one about once a week mostly in the early morning and late evening. But I have seen them during the day and that’s not usually normal behavior for them. Yes, they do go after cats and small dogs and have been known to attack small children. My pit goes crazy when he sees one.I once saw a documentary on urban coyotes, do you ever find them around? If I recall correctly they said that there is a direct correlation between coyotes and less cats. Not sure whether that was predation or competition driven though.
