Good attitude, buddy.A cloudy start to the day here in the City by the Bay! Well I’ve started to get my test results back and not only is there arthritis in both hands it’s also in my feet. Waiting to hear back from my doctors so they can explain the results in layman’s terms. The important thing is that I’m still above ground and vertical! In the meantime keeping me company today the usual lamb and #23. Have a great day folks!

Pays to have a back up vehicle, my friend.Nothing on the plate today except to call the dealer for an update on my truck. I'll carry this SOG Stingray today. Sausage and ????? for breakfast.

Thanks, Bob.Now that is some beautifully aged, functional cutlery Jeff.![]()
Thank you! That’s a good one Pat. I wish Boker would put more spears on their Barlows.![]()
Spectacular!
Good pairing!
Can you tell us more about the oldest? What a sweetheart! This pair today. Probably my oldest and my newest.
Oh I'd admired that one before, but didn't realize you had done a rehandle. Great choice of micarta and nice job, looks really clean! Here’s that Camco for FCephsea . They are cool old knives and this one is some of my better work.
But you need the knife to cut the salt bag, right? So we need knives to make cows happy?Whenever they look cooperative, it’s because I have a bag of salt I’m putting out. She looks like a steak with hair![]()
Bob, you take the slice cake home today. What a curvy wench she is!
Thanks !Fantastic combo Steve. I had a lamb and pony show going on myself today!![]()
Thanks Steve!

Wow!! That snakewood is incredible. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen one with those covers. Very nice!I foolishly sold or traded three different 98s just after they came out, so when I was recently able to obtain this snakewood beauty it became a safe queen.

Bob, I really like the new K'roo Ettrick. Not a pattern you see too often. I've been carrying Roper and the brown Richlite #15 for a few days.

Another excellent example. Beautiful cattle knife! Here's another 98 for the week...

Someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe there were 3 patterns made. A Cattle knife, a Texas Whittler, and the Texas Camp Knife. The Texas Whittler is indeed a split spring. A big one.How many variations did GEC make on the 98 frame? I think I see three this morning.
Any chance your Whittler is a split spring?
The tang stamp puts it somewhere between 1910 & 1946, and I'm pretty sure the scales are bakelite. Can you tell us more about the oldest? What a sweetheart!

Decided not to participate in WW today to give others a chance. That or I was intimidated by Bob. Not that I'm competitive or anything
. Just felt like this carry, my world-domination combo. Stay weird, Porchlings!
Thanks Jeff! I’m impressed you remembered it.Love your mod on the Camco, Bart!
Thanks. It was my first time working with paper Micarta and it was easy to work with and finished nicely. Also my first time trying the collars around the pins.Oh I'd admired that one before, but didn't realize you had done a rehandle. Great choice of micarta and nice job, looks really clean!
I hadn’t thought of it that way, but you’ve got a point there. But you need the knife to cut the salt bag, right? So we need knives to make cows happy?
Thanks Bob, it's the compact version with some extra pin work as decoration plus file-workWednesday, wood, Wonderful!!![]()
I like that the pinning does not overwhelm the ebony. Thanks Bob, it's the compact version with some extra pin work as decoration plus file-work
But that Kroo Ettrick is a masterpiece of interpretation, he got all the aspects right there, astounding knife![]()
Very kind words FC. This one is very comfortable in the hand.Bob, you take the slice cake home today. What a curvy wench she is!
