This has been my year for AC failures The heat pump at the Tennessee trailer has cooled its last. The ac in the PT Cruiser (Tennessee car) quit, and when the local shop estimated a repair bill of $1300, I told them I'd just roll the windows down like we did back in the day

Then on Monday, the hottest day of the year, my Missouri ac malfunctioned. It would blow cold, but only for 4 or 5 minutes at a time. Its a big window unit, so this morning I pulled it out of the window. Its filthy. Really filthy


The designers made it almost impossible to clean the cooling fins without complete disassembly I'm going to do the best I can without complete disassembly and hope for the best

One of the implements of destruction is the RR hoof pick knife. Real handy for getting in those little nooks and crannies

Half of that window unit is meant to be out in the weather, so can’t you just blast it out with a jet nozzle on your hose?
Of course, we do like using our pocket knives.

I attended a couple of outdoor weddings in July. One in Missouri, one in Tennessee. I wore a suit jacket at the one in Missouri. I skipped the jacket for the one in Tennessee. In Tennessee, as soon as the "I do's" were over I was taking off the tie and rolling up my sleeves. I found out later that Karen, my cousin from Georgia, had commented to my aunt, from Tennessee, "How long do you think it will be before Mike ditches the tie?"
Apparently, I'm predictable

You're comment RE the water is timely: I've been hesitant to blast water through it, being it is an electrical device, but I've been sitting here considering it

FYI: I tried the blade straightening technique offered by D Daddyo16 . It works! I nearly dead-centered that stag warncliffe! Unfortunately, the only thing that straightened out on my sodbuster was my thumb when I hit it with the hammer. To be continued...

It is odd that it's a "10" rather than a "6"
For those who may not know, in Case's official nomenclature, a "10" normally indicates handles of G10 or micarta and a "6" indicates jigged bone or jigged synthetic.
