What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Carrying this Crelicam Ebony covered Buck 055 today. No plans. Keeping an eye on the Pencil Fire about 10 miles as the crow flies away from us. Sausage and eggs for breakfast.

Ed, hopefully they can get it contained a bit and stay safe!!!

17220190609335079198952063054481.jpgmy first electric cuttlery co knife courtesy of danno50 danno50 ,and what a knife it is for being over a 100 years old, from what I read electric cuttlery ended in 1920 or so,hoping someone can correct me,but with 3+ knife companies in walden someone had to leave.but the bone is very unique to nyk company and what great bone it is.

but it's Friday. 🙀;)🤣 ............ Thursday was yesterday. 🤣
🤣😂😅 It's the best I can do most of the time Mr. P! 🤷‍♂️ I was born a day late and there's no coming back from that, really. Just have to accept my lot and go through life 24hrs behind. On the upside, by the time I notice something is happening I have the benefit of hindsight 🤔.
But, have it your way today 😉 Here are Friday's knives in a timely fashion:

Moran and Fischer Friday.
Hope everybody has a great weekend!

I'm moving pretty slow this week, even for me. Here are a bunch of multi quotes from early this week that I forgot about until now.

Congrats on the classic Imperial; love that pattern!

Happy Sunday

Nice knife and socket set, Mike!
I should get a photo of a knife with my ancient set of socket wrenches (but mine are NOT anything close to Craftsman quality).

I've had several of those RR camp knives, and I love 'em, but I've never tried using the can opener to open a can. Handy scraper, though!

Spears, Clips, and Lambs - oh my!

I'm making it through the day with 3 blades and six flutes in total (count 'em and see...) and an Opinel N⁰ 8 (which is doing all the work while the old ladies spectate) from our very own and very gracious @Primble .
Terrific trio of European knives!

Sooner than expected change. 🙄
Decided I want to carry some "good old" carbon steel.
COLT CT609 Canoe. Ti (plasma?) coated T10 blades, Black Micarta(?) covers. (no visible layers like G10 has).
IMHO a "Heavy Duty" canoe. 3mm/0.12" blade stock.

At first glance, I thought you had done a significant and interesting blade mod on your Colt canoe, reshaping both blades into clip points. But upon closer inspection, I decided that a fold of the fabric background is lying over the pen blade, causing it to look a little like a clip point. And I think maybe the combination of the spearpoint's swedge and the wide steep bevel you put on the edge made me think the profile of the blade had changed.

Handsome wood covers on that pair, Mitch! What kind of wood is on each knife?

Cool cast metal knife, José! Is it an advertising knife for some kind of agricultural company (maybe fertilizer)?

Classy Little Indian Girl Canoe!

Sunday's pocket friends
Splendid 38 whittler! I think you showed and ebony version earlier; what wood is on this one?

Thanks, Gary, it's been in my pocket every day since it arrived.
:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

This "War Eagle" medium stockman is in my pocket today. Chinese made, but well made. I wanted to try it. The white on the left side of the pic is sunlight reflecting from the handle.

You sure have a lot of interesting stockmans, Frank!
I always looked at the AG Russell War Eagle knives, and I think they had a canoe that caught my fancy, but I waited too long to order one.

Thank you GT. I'm still trying to adjust to being a Grandpappy, but, I really like being one. Seems like yesterday, my Grandson will be three next month ! 🤣

I've got a few pairs of pruning shears that could use some sharpening, so thank you for reminding me to do that.😊
🤓
I wish I was as successful at sharpening my grass clippers as I was with the pruning shears. We have quite a small yard, so I never got into the habit of using a string trimmer.

Carrying a new to me GEC Bull Moose in red Micarta for Micarta Monday. Just got off work & throwing the ball with our K9 companion for a little bit before supper.

Have a great Monday y'all!
Wouldn't it be ironic if we throw the ball because we think the dog enjoys chasing it, and the dog chases the ball because it thinks the human enjoys throwing it?

Lovely little ride out today.

Almost 50 years ago, I knew a woman called Anne Pellegrino and worked with her daughter Cathy.

I should have said I don't like to sweat while I'm watching TV or reading a book ;)
...or sleeping 😴
🤓

Sweet Ulster cattle knife! What's the 3rd blade?

We celebrated my daughter Eleanor’s 8th birthday today. She had a party at a trampoline park yesterday with all her friends, so today was just family time. We went out to eat breakfast at one of her favorite places, then went to the zoo (something that has become a bit of a birthday tradition for us).

And, as always, I’m going to subject you to a recap of the photos I take of her every year with her knife.

...
I always enjoy the girls' birthday posts, including the year-by-year photo recap. I especially enjoy seeing the changes in Eleanor's footwear on her birthday over the years.

That bird reminds me of a current presidential candidate!

I don't know.

You're asking the wrong question...you should be asking yourself do I have any cargo pants??? 😂
I've seen too many good men killed when their funny pockets got hung up on doorknobs or drawer-pulls.
Good point; that's happened to me several times! (I'm not a totally good man, so I wasn't totally killed each time I got hung up by cargo pockets.)

Let the day begin...
I'm bedazzled by the bone on that pair, Bob!

Have an okay day.
Some okay photos of a couple of okay Cases, so it's gotta be an okay day, Jeff!

Heading out to Klamath Falls, Oregon pretty soon for Cindy's appointment with her doctor. Cindy will fry up a couple/three sausages for a snack before we go. I'll be carrying a single blade Sowbelly in a belt sheath on my hip and Bunny #525 in a pocket with keys and change. Gonna be a hot one. The temperature is already 90 degrees.

I hope you and Cindy had an uneventful and safe trip, ED.

Miscellaneous Knife of the Week is a Frost Flying Falcon I picked up at a pawn shop several years ago. It used to be a desk knife at my office when I had an office.

Lambsfoot of the Week is Lam Jack, my 2017 horn Guardians lambsfoot (thanks, Jack):

That’s a great looking Case Barlow, Chris.

Coincidentally, I’ve become unusually enamored with the Case Barlows and looking at lots of them lately, trying to figure out which one(s) I should pull the trigger on. I’d have picked one like that for sure, had I come across it yet.

I’m sure I’ll find one (sure, juuust one) that scratches the itch.

Here's hoping you feel better fast!

Here's my grandfather's pick-me-up recipe.
Take two ounces of scotch and set it aside.
Take the juice one lemon. Add 2 table spoons of sugar. Put it on a pot to simmer on low. When it's nice and thick you pour the goop down the sink and drink the scotch. ;)

I have a special love for the stockman pattern. So many possible intepretations. I find that fascinating.

Today's carry is a Queen stockman, amber stag bone and D2.
Took me a while to put a decent edge on it. Queen had a habit of shipping their D2 knives about as sharp as butter knives. I remember that this one was a particular booger, because of the 3 blades which each had to be reprofiled. But it's a delight to carry at this point.
