Meeting with banksters wirh Mom, so no fear of dirtying the Forum Rabbit. Maybe later I can work on wearing off the etch trimming beans. The best thing about etches is that I can get rid of them.
It’s actually cold blue. Got sick of chasing pepper spots. Even the springs are blued now:

Looks great🤙
I might have to try gray phosphate parkerizing the blade(s) and springs the next time I break apart a TL-29.

Looks like aged organic locally grown honey.
The knife, I mean. Not the VFT.
My son purchased that leash because my grandson was running away from him and laughing ....... plus he had a hard time catching him. I tease them a bit about it because it seems like it is more like grandson having his dad on a leash. 🤣 Hopefully, it will be resolved by his next birthday. 🤣
My 2nd boy could have used a choke collar, but Vik wouldn’t let me.
I should have brought that Catt with me. Just to class up the joint.

I just used good ol’ Birchwood Casey since I generally have it on hand.

Thanks Bob. I’m definitely on the mend 👍

Cool Sao, Bob. I’ve had my eye on his knives. How’s the quality?
Glad to hear Bart. This is an earlier creation. It has very good fit and finish. I cannot speak for the newer models.

I'm right behind you Jeff, with making etching disappear.

Here’s today’s dirty thumbnail carry, an old Russell barlow, for which I have several reproductions. Stamp’s not great on this knife but I believe it’s the real thing.

Real or not, it's a nice looking knife.

I'm no expert, but based on my research, one of the big clues is the placement of the center pin (which your thumb is covering here). If the center pin is nearly centered between the back pin and the edge of the bolster, it's more likely to be original. If the center pin is centered between the front edge of the handle and the back edge, it's probably a reproduction or a forgery.

This one is in my pocket today (along with GL-24). I think it's the real deal. Open to correction on that, if anybody has better information.

Thanks for the info Tyson! Looks like my knife’s middle pin is placed similarly to yours. Here’s to hoping that we both have the real deal!!

Below is a clean, shiny one with sawcut bone covers that I’ve always suspected as a fake, primarily from the larger, more uniform pin sizes. This knife’s middle pin is more centered between the edges of the covers, not as centered between the back pin and the bolster.
