What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

These today.

As you know I live in Newcastle Australia. The wife and I had to town yesterday, so we decided to walk the harbor foreshore haven't in ages. I did a Johnnythefox Johnnythefox and took some pics.
The foreshore is on the south side of the harbor where the city of Newcastle is located.
This is the old wool sheds built in the about mid 20th century there used to be about 8 warehouses full of bales of wools that buyers would come to town and haggle prices, spend a few days buying. This is the last 1 standing & used for art exhibitions or event.

The city has become very developed, up until around 20 years ago the tallest building was 8 stories, now there is a lot of tall developments going up with restaurants or bars on. the ground floors.

The William the Fourth hasn't been located in the harbor for long, made about an hour north of Newcastle.

The North side of the harbor is still a working commercial port. The ships moored are at the mouth of the Hunter river more further up.

"As you know I live in Newcastle Australia" well know I didnt.😎

I really, really hope you call yourselves the "Down under Geordies" 😁

Great pictures (post more if you like) thats one thing I like about it here I can learn about other cultures and places that I might not ever get a chance to visit.

If I did the paddle steamer would be top of my list to visit as I have never seen one let alone been on one.

Mellow day ~ the girls took me out to lunch, and let me lay around napping and generally acting slothlike. A good birthday.

Kind of strange though, because twelve years ago the doctors told me I had an incurable fatal disease. Mayo Clinic knew better. But that changes a person. Now I look at each day as some kind of sacred gift, and let the years take care of themselves. They do roll along.

Started with two blondes for an early morning appointment at the Subaru dealer,
but swapped for Black Friday knives.

Have a fine evening!
Jeff, a belated Happy Birthday.
Glad you had a relaxing one!

Pulled these two out to carry today. After being house bound yesterday with flu like symptoms and feeling better this morning I was hoping to head over to my shop and tinker with some hobby projects. The wife has other plans for me, helping her assemble dozens of empanadas to freeze for quick weeknight meals. I'll have to see how my day pans out. :(
Could be that the only knife I put in hand today is of the kitchen variety. ;)LT & Churchill 1 - 1.jpegLT & Churchill 2 - 1.jpeg

Glad to hear you're feeling better.
I'm sure you would be able to sneak that pair in for a little bit of "kitchen action" 😉🤣

I'm carrying this 2001 SS Amber jigged bone Sowbelly today. It's my Christmas present to myself but only arrived yesterday - danged USPS. It's really very nice with only minor blade rub on the Sheepfoot blade and light handling marks. Pretty good for a 23-year old knife. Sausage and ????? for breakfast.
