First little bimble of the new year.

Neither far nor fast, but the sun was out and even though cold enjoyable.

This time I took a bigger flask and as I had thin strides on my thickest woolen sit mat (loves those mats).

I reckon the City Slicker is a pretty good outdoor knife, don’t you?

Peaceful as everyone's still comatose from the holidays, all I saw where birds. 😁

Kiwis read the brass plaque, thank you.

I mentioned in November that our sister-in-law had passed away Thanksgiving night. A real eye opener that came of it was funeral expenses. She had a prepaid cremation policy so those expenses were taken care of. Having seen the cost involved with funeral expenses, Cindy and I are going to the mortuary in town today to purchase a prepaid cremation for each of us. I'll be writing a check for north of six grand but it'll give us peace of mind that our funeral expenses won't be a burden on the other when we pass. Of course a trip to a funeral home requires black, so this Black Ebony Sowbelly will be riding in my front pocket. ????? for breakfast.

P.S. - Funeral expenses are climbing to astronomical levels. Prepaid funeral expenses are worth looking into. The funeral director told me that if I'd purchased these policies just a year ago that the two policies we're buying today would have been right at eight hundred dollars less per policy.
Shortly after my brother-in-law passed away four years ago, my wife and I made our arrangements. It wasn't cheap, and it wasn't fun, but it's done.
On a more cheerful note, we still have the Christmas tree up and were watching the Sugar Bowl this afternoon. I had my trusty Giant Mouse with me.

I might yet get around to that. But as a departed local character once said, "Somebody'll bury you. They aren't going to leave you lying on the sidewalk."
I still intend to make my own gravestone out of fiber-reinforced concrete. I probably ought to get to that before I pass, if I'm going to do it at all.

Wright, CRKT, Richards.
Probably not all three at once.

Locking Knife of the Week is a Rough Ryder small work knife with linerlock and burlap micarta covers. Really nice knife (thanks, Alan)!

International Knife of the Week is from Poland, and that's about all I know about it, other than it's a solid, useful knife (thanks, Tom):
