Sorry for your loss. Terriers are the best! To this day miss having mine and seeing her do the Zoomies around the house.

Feeling beat down today as yesterday we lost Loretta Rose exactly three months after being diagnosed with lymphoma. She was the best dog: a patient nanny, a loyal companion, and a vigilant home defender. Although she moved to a new house with our daughter when she got married, this was still her home. She visited us and stayed with us often and is now buried in our back yard between Cisco and Grover.

This is pretty rough on all of us especially my daughter and my wife. I just don’t see myself ever getting another pet.

So very sorry to hear of both of your losses. We had to put down a dog in 2021 that was nearly 16 years old. It was devastating, as they all are. I said "I can't do this again". Two months later I was takin' home a new pup. Two years after yet another. So here we are.

Whether you get another or not my hope for you is that the memories only sweeten with time. It looks to me like both were well loved and knew it.

My wife has said we're gettin' too old to do the puppy thing again when that time should come but I say 'bah!'.
 
So,so nice to go for a slow,little bimble in the sunshine today.

I took a little stove and had my lunch,Spaghetti Bolognese outside in the sun.

I did break 2 of the cardinal rules we are taught,I was lucky to get away with it.

1,never reach over a stove/flame I did and dropped boiling water/pot on the ground twice (makes me an idiot).

2,always zip up/button up all pouches and pockets,I didnt and nearly lost something.

Got to own up when you do something wrong. 😁

Great to see snowdrops out allready,I checked and my shady front garden has them starting to come out as well,hooray. 😇

They are. He used to love chasing rabbits in the yard. Although he never caught one, he would come back in like he just saved the day.

Thank you for your kind words Mr Peanuts. I've pondered getting another dog both ways. At the end of the day, the love and companionship they bring far supercedes the pain with loss.

Seems like a tough run for the dog owners on The Porch. It’s a horrible day when one’s most loyal friend leaves us. My condolences to all who have gone through this saddest of sad days!

Our dog has had his struggles last year and the doctors forecast isn’t promising for this year despite the doggie being absolute champ and not showing slowdowns. Every day is not taken granted but every day is blessing. We don’t deserve dogs!
