I was the same way with the two nail pulls, when I saw the production drawing but I went for it anyway. As far as the crescent nick or the long pull, I use neither. The pull on these #97s are so light I just pinch the blade between the two and open it.That big GEC was one of the last chances to buy sitting inventory from a dealer's on hand stock. Bull Buster was another. I came a hair away from ordering a 97. I liked the smooth yellow one. But the dual nail cuts threw me off. So I waffled until they were gone.
And naturally, now I think they look just fine.
So which do you grab at? The nick, or the long pull?

There were quite a lot of factory scratches on the bolsters and shield so I polished the knife with some 3M pads and Flitz
