Case Teardrop in 6.5 Bonestag. This really is a gem of a knife. The spring is exactly flat in all three positions of the blade and everything is just perfectly manufactured. According to a post from Tony, he patterned the blade after an 1800s quill knife. It's a joy to carry and use.

While putting on my shorts yesterday, I got the waist adjustment drawstring tangled in my toes and went from vertical to horizontal in a nano-second. All body parts are working pretty good this morning - just stiff. Going to town in a short bit and will carry my Remington Baby Trapper. Just coffee for breakfast.

Ed, glad to hear that you’re doing okay! Last two times I went from vertical to horizontal I ended up on the way to the hospital.

Not hard to see why, The White Owl is a wonderful pattern and single-spring too. Yours is some very tidy Stag too. I like the ones I have, Acyrilcs, Bone, Ebony and a very rare stainless blade one but I have no example in Spear, which is a source of huge anguish.....

Thanks, Will

Ya the 68 is a keeper, you see alot of white owls on exchange because most have blade rub,but blade rub disappears with use,I thought you had a 68 spear.

Changing to my pre 1977 (no date code) Western 742 stockman

"Western" may not be the first brand "people" think of for classic, well made USA pocket knives, but in my humble (potentially biased) opinion, the Western 742 is every bit as good as the working/not for "show" stockmans offered by their competition; Imperial - Schrade; Camillus; Utica, Case, and Buck, among others.
(As far as I know, Buck never offered the 300 series with carbon steel blades. I wonder if that cost them sales.)

I put the Case teardrop away.

No other changes; Still carrying my 1980 ("D" date code) Western 062 Folding Hunter.

Dammit, Ed.
Don't be showing off, just sit on the bed to put on your drawers.

Thank you my friend

The rabbit fur hat looks toasty. I have a couple. One is my snow relocation hat. Certainly keeps the ears warm.
Just another benefit of this weather ~ I get to wear my rabbit fur bomber hat.
