What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Beautiful Washington Jack!
Here’s the old Ulster made Boy Scout knife unfurled. Edit: Forgot to mention I oiled the joints and nourished the covers with Williamsville Wax

Whenever I see a real Boy Scout knife, it makes me smile. When I was in the scouts, (OMG! Almost 70 years ago!), I don't remember anyone who had a real Boy Scout knife. Our knives came from the Army surplus store, because the knockoffs were maybe 50 cents cheaper. JC Penny sold genuine Boy Scout & Cub Scout stuff, but I don't think anyone had a whole uniform.

Same here! I’m from the 70’s and early 80s era of Boy Scouts. I don’t recall seeing an official knife back then. Although there were some kids who showed up in the full kit. Our scoutmaster was old school but only enforced the khaki shirt and neckerchief part of the regs. And not an official BSA neckerchief either. Here’s a picture of my actual scout knife. An Eye Brand I used and carried every day into my early 20’s.IMG_6657.jpeg

Nothing better than honest patina of time. What’s the old family car daily driver?
I agree Dave.
It's a '96 Chevy Tahoe, so it may not be technically "old" by some of y'all's standards but it is almost 30 years old at this point with 250 thousand miles on the odometer. All of those have been trouble free.
I've personally seen new cars right off of the lot that have broken down more lol (which this one never has btw) 😉

I'm another who carried a Demo knife from grade school to past High School, and during my scouting days.
(I quit the boy scouts after moving to a different town while in 7th grade.)
I'm not sure (too many solar cycles ago) but I "think" a couple guys in my last BSA troop had a genuine "official" Scout Knife. I know I was not the only one with a Demo knife. A few may have had a look alike unofficial Scout Knife.

I had a full uniform in cub scouts (my mum was a den mother. she insisted I have the uniform. If my meme or aye is functioning, I believe my maternal grandparents bought my uniform. Grandpa was a carpenter. He gave me one of his work Esterbrook hatchets when I graduated to the boy scouts, for the few/rare camping trips the troop had. My sheath knife was a surplus Ontario 499 Jet Pilot Survival Knife.

For boy scouts, shirt (with the required bsa patches), bandana, and bandana slide/keeper were it for me.

I was never in the scouts growing up. But all of this talk of them reminded me I have an old Boy Scout Plumb hatchet head I got from a coworker.
Thought y'all might would appreciate it.
(& Of course you have to have a camp knife to go with it) 😉

Great looking Tahoe Zach.
It shows it is well maintained.

My mother in law gave away my father in law’s 98 Tahoe after he passed too soon. And it’s a real shame. Some lucky down on his luck guy got a very nice truck with low miles. Wish we still had it in the family😭

Very nice ‘96 and beautiful 81 in smooth violet bone!
