• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Patina was gettin' pretty grungy, so I flitzed it off to start over.

Out of curiosity, what don’t you like about the stainless? The have found mine to hold a reasonably good edge, even cutting rough corrugated cardboard, and I’ve even poked some holes in emptied spray cans with the tip with no deformation at all.
It is a tough steel for sure. I can't say I have really had a lot of hard use with it, but it has held up to box cutting and such. I strop my knives before I put them away, so it doesn't need sharpening that much. I just tend to prefer carbon steel to be honest.

Zach, the BSA official hatchet pic got lost in my Chevy Tahoe reverie. What a great item to have. Any idea how old that is?
I'm sorry Dave, he told me but I honestly can't remember.
I got it from a coworker who collected wood working tools in a trade for an old logging pick head that I found on an old property when I was doing construction work years ago. I think they are called "pickaroons" or "hookaroons" 🤔

Gotcha. I live in constant humidity, so it was an easy choice for me, but I think it performs pretty well… especially at the price. My expectations were pretty low, to be honest, but I remain impressed.
