Nice pair and slip
Back from the summer holiday. Did take some knife pictures, just have to take copies of them to the hard drive. Anyway, I found a more comfortable way to carry my fixed blades. I don't like carrying much on my belt, it was either that or pocket carry, but I guy I know posted a video about carrying knives with a baldric. I tried it and liked it. The largest knife I like to carry in the woods is my Brisa Nessmuk, it is also my favourite larger knife. The original sheath could be improved, I tried to modify it but ended making a new one. This is in my opinion better, it keeps the knife well and is comfortable to carry. I made a simple adjustable baldric of nylon webbing with steel clips to attach it to the sheath. Smaller knives go to my pocket or are carried with a simple paracord baldric.

Nice Dan. May I ask how you find the new mechanism vs the old one on the Opinel? The sun is trying to shine today here in the City by the Bay! If it’s a repeat of yesterday we’ll be socked in by noon. Keeping me company with a nod to Wooden Wednesday these two beauties. Have a great day folks!

Thanks, José.I also enjoy the Case canoes with the blade etch/stamp, although some of mine are about 50 years old and probably difficult to find anywhere. Case has a current amber jigged bone canoe with the blade image on carbon steel blade. Are those not available in Europe?
Been to town for my annual "How ya doin'" appointment with my gastroenterologist. Then I stopped at a Dollar General I'd never been to before. Darn things are popping up everywhere. It makes me wonder why dime stores went out of business. Basically, its the same concept. A small variety store for sundries
Anyway...Howard kept me company

How do you like that opinel? It is one of the new Slipjoints right? The sun is trying to shine today here in the City by the Bay! If it’s a repeat of yesterday we’ll be socked in by noon. Keeping me company with a nod to Wooden Wednesday these two beauties. Have a great day folks!

Thanks Bob, it’s pretty much like a regular traditional slip joint. No half stop but there is a solid thunk when it locks up and with no snap when closing. I might grind a more pointed tip but not sure yet.Nice Dan. May I ask how you find the new mechanism vs the old one on the Opinel?
