Awesome first, from grandpa, knife.Schrade in the pocket as I picked up Bear’s first pocket knife from the post office. Had a garage door spring fail the other day. It made it 24 years so I can’t complain too much.

Superb wood covers, Barrett!I’m a day late posting yesterday’s carry, a black-palm-handled Opinel that was a gift from Charlie @waynorth and my Rosewood HHB.

Totally agree!Electric Sowbelly!

Handsome and unusual-to-me knife, José!
Thanks for teaching me a new word!Back from the summer holiday. Did take some knife pictures, just have to take copies of them to the hard drive. Anyway, I found a more comfortable way to carry my fixed blades. I don't like carrying much on my belt, it was either that or pocket carry, but I guy I know posted a video about carrying knives with a baldric. I tried it and liked it. The largest knife I like to carry in the woods is my Brisa Nessmuk, it is also my favourite larger knife. The original sheath could be improved, I tried to modify it but ended making a new one. This is in my opinion better, it keeps the knife well and is comfortable to carry. I made a simple adjustable baldric of nylon webbing with steel clips to attach it to the sheath. Smaller knives go to my pocket or are carried with a simple paracord baldric.

Sears,Roebuck Co. Cattle Knife made by Camillus, and Wenger Canyon. I think they had not trademarked the name Craftsman yet.
...
I have another Wenger that's identical except it has a useless corkscrew instead of the phillips driver. They called that one the Viking.
I hope you can find one in stock soon, José! You're getting some very nice canoes recently, and that Case canoe with the Native American in a canoe on the blade will be another fine addition! Thanks, Gary.
Yes, this one appears on some sites, but all the ones I found are out of stock.![]()
A dog that gets between a man and his chili is a dog gone TOO far, IMHO!Ebony Buck 112 today. Looking for a softball size red onion in the "Field of Hidey Holes". "Abby" the Hoarder hid it while we were out of town yesterday. So much for homemade chili tonight. Sausage and waffles for breakfast.

Superlative sleeveboard whittler, Bob!Carrying this oldie today.

Gave both blades an edge, I think I've decided the spear will be my main. Feels better in hand on this frame. Cut up some chicken with it last night for dinner, patina starting to come up.

Couple of magnificent moose, men!View attachment 2944152always a moose on smoking day,and nothing better than a fine manitoba whiskey flavor.
Heck of a handle on your Opinel!
Noteworthy bonestag on your trapper, Harry!I am carrying the Trapper today . Talked withAmir Fleschwund today and he stated that he had never seen a Case Gunstock . So I decided to carry 2 of mine for a little while and show him what Case's Gunstocks look like . They make them in 2 different sizes . These are the bigger of the 2 sizes . I have never used either of the Gunstocks , so I have no idea how they are as a user . I also have a GEC and a Tuna Valley Gunstock . The GEC one was a good user but the Tuna Valley , made by Queen , is a little bulky . The Cattaraugus Gunstock , shown by @Primble , IMO is the nicest looking Gunstock .
The large Case Trapper has been pretty much a fixture in my pocket since I got it .

Sublime Kutmaster stockman, José!
The Victorinox folding paring knife is an outstanding knife, and I think carrying the serrated version for going out to eat is a wise choice. Thanks! That village was actually still owned by the Lord of the Manor, and had some interesting customs.
Thanks for the confirmation.
My little sister's first private cello teacher was a contributor to a home for aged donkeys somewhere in Britain.
I always have mine when I'm out to eat.
Maybe my Oddfellows jack today.

Phenomenal pair, Pat!
Sorry you missed out on your Michigan camping this summer, Greg. Until last year, we'd been renting a cottage on the north shore of Lake Huron for the first week or two of August, and it can still be quite hot up there. Right at the lake, it usually cools off at night though. Last year and this year, we're going to almost the same place, but for the last two weeks of August.Glad to hear you're doing well in spite of the heat and the drought you're dealing with. Eventually you'll be covered in snow as the cycle continues. We usually do a camping trip each year on the first weekend of August a bit north of you in MI but didn't make it this year. It is usually very hot up there on that trip but this year I think it ended up being near perfect for camping.
Go figure.
Sensational sawcut bone on your Barlow, José!
Couple of captivating coffins, Bob!Good morning all. Some coffins for a dreary day.View attachment 2945367
Venerable pair of knives, Jeff, and some vivid shots of your verdant garden!I could have easily just kept totin what I had in my blue jeans. Probably forever, but I opened the drawer full of cigar boxes...![]()
To be honest, there is such a thing as too many knife choices. At least for me.
So I felt like a 23 Jack.
And a Pioneer Victorinox.
If you'll indulge a couple of off-topic garden shots...
...
People who know me best know not to ask about gardens unless they have some spare time..
Have a fine Friday.
Thank you, sir! That olive wood Joker is a jewel - no joke!

I carry it in a standard Buck belt sheath Ed. It frees up pocket space, and I don't like that much weight in a pocket anyway.Ironbut - Do you carry that Buck in a belt sheath, in a slip, or in your pocket (front or back) ? Inquiring knives want to know.

I picked up a RR canoe yesterday on the 127 yard sale and wondered instantly if you had one like it. I’ll post it later and tag you in it to see if you do. It’s an older one. It looks like it may be from the early 2010s.Superb wood covers, Barrett!
Totally agree!
I have quite a few RR sowbelly stockman knives that I'm VERY fond of, but I don't have a red bone one like yours; gotta add it to my wish list.
Notable pair, David!
Wonderful wood and fetching filework, Mitch!
Tasteful toothpick trio!
Handsome and unusual-to-me knife, José!
Thanks for teaching me a new word!
I often carry a bag with shoulder strap across my chest, and when I carry a "fanny pack" I usually wear it with "belt" across my chest rather than around my waist, but I didn't know there was a name for that set-up.

Is that oak?
Noteworthy bonestag on your trapper, Harry!
I wonder why Case calls it bonestag, when almost everyone else calls it stag bone. (The latter seems more accurate to me.)
Sublime Kutmaster stockman, José!

The serrated version won't have its edge negatively affected by use on someone else's ceramic plates.
