What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Got back to the cabin this morning, after an overnight in the forest with my daughter. She heads off to college next week, so this may have been my last outing with her. But we did a lot. Mountain biked up a mountain, swam in a wild lake, watched a gorgeous sundown, played backgammon by lantern light, hung out around a roaring campfire, and counted constellations at midnight. I slept in my hammock while she snoozed in the tent she pitched next to me. Then we coasted back down the mountain this morning.

May she remember your weekend forever.
My 2nd oldest granddaughter just went to join her older sister at university, where they'll be sharing an apartment. A couple of weeks ago, we flew them from Georgia to Colorado. We drove, and spent a week hanging out with them and a bunch of other family. Fun, but too many people on the front range between Co. Springs and Boulder, and their cars ~ I'd much prefer a getaway like yours
I like this Gabon ebony 77 Jack ten times more the richlite version I sold. 😁

I suppose you could call it a slimmed down 86, its perfect for Englands laws.🤭

Teamed it up with the very useful new bladeless SAK,best scissors around and a good tool combination that box cutter with a philips is a winner.😎

Sometimes I take more than one or two shots of my totes. And sometimes have a hard time deciding which to post, and which to delete.
I see you found a way around that dilemma.😁
Always enjoy them, John ~ keep it up.
Don't know if the woodland camo Picnicker is new to you, but don't recall seeing you post it before.
Cool knife. Love the size and shape of the grip.
Clueless? Moi?

Next year, when it's time to revamp your rotation schedule to accomodate your ever growing collection, you should give Schrade (including Schrade, Schrade Cut Co, and Schrade Walden 🇺🇸) their own category befitting their status.

Sounds like a great evening with the daughter,I made my son leary of camping after letting him experience "roughing it" at a too young. Age lol,so what lake is that,I'm thinking the mosquitos and deer flies and noseesums appreciated you offering yourself up in the hammock seeing as that water is as flat as glass.

The bugs were wicked!!!! All manner of deerfly, blackfly and mosquito feasted upon us.

That is Newcomb Lake in the Santanoni Preserve. One of my favorite haunts. My daughter and I have been camping in there since she was maybe 12. I’d taken her in for day trips many years beforehand, but 12 seemed the right age for starting to rough it with her.

What is this lovely knife?!?!?! It looks like a smaller one of these:

SAK and an Opinel today.

The SAK is a custom job by yours truly. I call it the Woodchipper. The old cross scales came from a friend. I really love this tool configuration with two blades, wood saw, file and awl; and a cap lifter for the end of the day.

The Opinel #6 I found today at the checkout counter of a country store. I already have a few #8’s, so I decided to try something a little different.

The #85 in Blackwood is an SFO
THE #42 is a L/B and is a special factory assembly 1 of 2 . I’ve never seen the other one posted anywhere.
The #48 in white acrylic is a special factory assembly, and is 1 of 9 .
The other #85 is an sfo , polished sambar stag.
The lighting wood and the dog paw , speak for themselves.
Maybe it’s time to let these back into the wild ☺️IMG_5819.jpeg

Wonderful report. As father to two daughters, now aged 28 and 26, I applaud this heartily! And I predict many more adventures for y’all. I had many fun trips with both my girls through college and beyond. Sometimes with their new friends, sometimes solo. Always good times.

Is she going off to school with a special knife in her foot locker?
She has only two knives. One is a Camillus 99 camp knife, and the other is a Vic Swisschamp that I outfitted with nylon scales. The Camillus lives forever in her pack, so the Vic will be going to school with her. She figures the extra tools will come in handy.
