Work Knife of the Week is a Mora Basic 511, one of very few fixed blade knives I have (Cedarville Bay in Lake Huron in the background):

Of the half-dozen or so Rough Ryders I have, that one is my favorite. Good knifeI chose this pair for today's carry, both have gator snap to the blades. The GEC 74 has a half stop and it engages in such a way as to almost take off my finger nail when opening the blade, me no like that. I have two other 74's with smooth half stops that I can pull through with ease, much preferred for my liking anyway.
The Rough Rider has a cam action main blade and half stops on the secondaries, strong pull but smooth action.
Anyway the pair make a good back pocket/watch pocket combo to carry.

Same here, Mike. Sturdy build, nice F&F and nice pattern in a 3-3/8" oal whittler.Of the half-dozen or so Rough Ryders I have, that one is my favorite. Good knife![]()
That blue is striking. Something about it being deep and vibrant at the same time? Maybe shading towards purple the way Blurple Spydercos are? Or not, I'm incompetent and I don't even mean well.Extremely nice weather today. 75F, low humidity, low dew point, nice breeze. I had thought to go for a motorcycle ride today, but got caught up dealing with the medical-industrial complex. It ultimately worked out well and will benefit me financially - I think. One is never quite sure when dealing with the medical-industrial complex. Sort of like dealing with the CIA I would imagine
Anyway, I did get some nice yard time today. Aired up the car tires. Caressed the bikeTook action shots of my Pioneer. Here it is in a death defying stunt

It looks blue to me not so much blurple, but I don't have any blurple knives to compare it to. I do agree that its strikingThat blue is striking. I am sure your mom enjoyed the visit, as did you and your daughter.Camillus no.1 and 23 again. They really didn't need it, but I ran them over the Spyderco Sharpmaker that lives in the kitchen silverware drawer just to make sure.

My daughter and I will be going to visit Mom this morning. I have beans, tomatoes, garlic, onions, peppers, potatoes, squash, and some herbs to share. Now that she's alone, and not cooking for Dad anymore, she tends to buy and eat crap factory made food too often. Plus, she eats like a bird.
