What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Something old and something new today. Pocketing my old EO Camillus "Navy and Coast Guard General Utility Knife".

I also grabbed a new acquisition, a GEC 2AB with green canvas micarta slabs and an amazing 440C blade. This knife could be an actual game changer for me. I once stopped carrying GEC for 5 long years, because of all my carbon steel corrosion issues, but this baby actually gives me not just a stainless GEC option, but an excellent stainless option. I freakin' love 440C!!!!

I do have a couple of other 86 patterns, but never really carried them much. They seemed kind of big and bulky to me. A bit too much for the pocket. But the 2AB is crazy thin, yet still manages a secure and comfortable grip in my hand. Super easy to carry. It also has nice fit and finish, tough covers, my favorite blade shape, absolutely perfect walk and talk, and a nice authoritative snap, without being a nail breaker. I'm going to play with it for the next couple weeks, and run it through its paces. If it works out, it will probably be a very prominent knife in my upcoming 3-week Adirondack Mountain vacation that starts at the end of the month.

I have an identical No.#10 in stainless that I used when filling customer's boxes at the market farm. I carried a little bottle of alcohol and tried to keep the blade sterile.
But nowadays, I prefer the carbone.
I'm always impressed by the sharpness easily achieved on an Opinel.

A thin layer of fog and low clouds to start the day here in the City by the Bay! Going out later to get the oil changed on the only internal combustion car we have left since we got an EV. Along for the ride with a nod to Wooden Wednesday the usual lamb and Inox #6. Have a great day folks! 😀

Came home from the dentist and town yesterday and everything seemed fine but then Cindy spotted the cardboard top of a box in the yard. "Abby" the Hoarder had snagged a box of her snacks from the kitchen countertop, evidently had a few, and was in the process of burying the box of the rest in a hidey hole. It's a new adventure with her every day. Carrying a Bull Nose today. Sausage and ???? for breakfast. Oh, Abby would not pose for a picture of her next to the box or take responsibility for he misdeeds.
