Something old and something new today. Pocketing my old EO Camillus "Navy and Coast Guard General Utility Knife".
I also grabbed a new acquisition, a GEC 2AB with green canvas micarta slabs and an amazing 440C blade. This knife could be an actual game changer for me. I once stopped carrying GEC for 5 long years, because of all my carbon steel corrosion issues, but this baby actually gives me not just a stainless GEC option, but an excellent stainless option. I freakin' love 440C!!!!
I do have a couple of other 86 patterns, but never really carried them much. They seemed kind of big and bulky to me. A bit too much for the pocket. But the 2AB is crazy thin, yet still manages a secure and comfortable grip in my hand. Super easy to carry. It also has nice fit and finish, tough covers, my favorite blade shape, absolutely perfect walk and talk, and a nice authoritative snap, without being a nail breaker. I'm going to play with it for the next couple weeks, and run it through its paces. If it works out, it will probably be a very prominent knife in my upcoming 3-week Adirondack Mountain vacation that starts at the end of the month.
