I may be wrong but I think you need to have a paid subscription to post pics. Please think about purchasing a subscription if possible they are what makes this forum an amazing place!I have an Opinel №6 in my pocket today. Not sure how to attach a picture of it!
I love the way the locking mechanism is integrated into the axe-handle. It’s definitely something different, and I like that. Glad to hear you’re enjoying yours!Great choice! I absolutely love these Ruples. The slim design is surprisingly comfortable to use. I thought it would dig into my hand more than it does.
Way too often, I am afraid! But, you at least you are not alone!View attachment 3019754
I have no need for so many splitbacks. I become obsessed with a certain pattern and then buy a bunch of them trying to find the perfect one or checking out different covers or steel types, etc... I'm sure nobody else here has ever done such a thing, right?
Confused on the model. The blade looks a 110, but rest looks a 55.
It's the 20th Anniversary 111 model that was released earlier this year. They were introduced in 2005 as a variation of the 110 with curved bolsters, like the 55. I'm a little confused on when they were discontinued, so maybe someone who actually knows what they're talking about will come along, and fill us in.Confused on the model. Good looking knife either way.
Huh. I thought the most recent 111 was a fixed blade 110.It's the 20th Anniversary 111 model that was released earlier this year.
I think you're thinking of the 101 fixed blade.Huh. I thought the most recent 111 was a fixed blade 110.
I'm pretty sure the "111" available in the 1970's were a shadow pattern/type 110 that had the fancy scroll engraved aluminum covers ... tho I am probably wrong on that one's model number.![]()
Did you know?!? Prior to 1964 the 110 was a fixed blade, very similar to the current 103 Skinner?
They are ather rare now. I dun gived up on getting a 110 made in my birth year (1955) or any pre-1964 110.
(Whom knows? maybe they are fairly common, just ... misidentified ... as a 103?)
