Good morning, all. Pocketed this 66 ironwood yesterday and stating off today with the same. The handles have darken considerably as it ages, almost looks like ebony against the osage.

When I went for a doctor appointment earlier the car thermometer said it was 15F. We've warmed up to a sweltering 25 with bright sunny skies. I was getting tested for allergies as a continuing effort to diagnose my persistent cough. Unfortunately I failed the test I had a reaction to the negative control, so I'll have to go back next week for a subdural (?) test involving 45 tiny needles. Good thing tiny needles don't bother me

I had those tests years ago. The results are interesting. Just knowing will help you avoid things you're allergic to.
Besides the usual suspects like poison ivy and ragweed, I found out I am moderately allergic to maple. Not just it's pollen, but maple sawdust.
One of the guitars I'm building has a maple top, and I did some finish sanding before finishing it. Without a dust mask. Not smart.
