I know by the serial numbers the reels are 1962; the rods are probably around the same. The reels are Abu Ambassadeur 5000s; the top rod is a Herters, and the bottom is a True Temper. How old are the rods?
The rods have the old school grip to rod connection. Some I had from my grandfather were 60's vintage with the same connection.I know by the serial numbers the reels are 1962; the rods are probably around the same. Mail it forward?
I can't....not only because it's a gift but due to the tariff antics fiasco, EU post offices won't accept packets for the US- for now. And courier will cost the earth and then you'll have to pay import tax on a gift made in America.Mail it forward?![]()

Our one son has a house in Lakeland, but he's working a job in Colorado, so he can't be home to enjoy the snow. Can confirm. Central FL, we saw snow flurries for the first time (ever?) last night.
Staying in and hanging with the kiddos today, these two riding along.

Back around 1990 I was working in KC. I was training a new engineer straight out of college. She was from Florida and got excited when it started to snow one day as it was the first time she had ever seen snow in real lifeCan confirm. I have been in snow, family in VA and a few trips out to Wyoming to (try to) snowboard. I've just never seen it here lol.Back around 1990 I was working in KC.
