What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

What puzzles me is why dealers are allowed to get away with using false info about blade steel in their descriptions of products. 😲

IMO it's random error. That can happen.

The average knife site has thousands of descriptions. Some outfits copy the description from the manufacturer's web site and leave it at that. Others try to break it out by specific attributes or give their own description. Entering data that is not a copy and paste operation expands the chance for operator error. When doing dozens of descriptions at a time, getting everything 100% correct is difficult, especially when it's just a clerk doing it. The descriptions can get mixed up. People take breaks then come back to the wrong entry. Attention wanders. Poo-Poo occurs.

As an engineer, among other things I used to maintain the listing of all the polymeric materials we used: manufacturer, product, size, specifications approved to, shelf life, storage temp. I was precise, I was focused, I would triple check every attribute, and the result still was not 100% perfect over the several thousand entries I created over the years.

If scandi/puukko - knives are my favourites in anything with bushcraft, firewood etc. these spanish knives and Opinels are lovely all round pocket knives. Just my personal taste. I have tried many kinds of knives, including lockbacks and these slipjoints and friction folders just fit me.

About friction folder safety, the pivot of the the Pallares on the bottom can be adjusted with a torx tool, so it feels quite safe in the pocket. This despite it's antique looks. The blade is about same thickness as an Opinel of the same size, so it is a slicer, not a hard use tool. The slip joint has a thicker blade and half stop. Both recommended to friends of these styles.

The sawcut texture has long disappeared !! My first GEC Barlow!!! December 2012 - going on 14 years, off and on in my pocket!!
I love that you carved your initials in the bone, Charlie. It's a knife. Your knife.🤙
I need to lower the point on the grubby one. A pocketknife should be pocketable. Mom bought me the nice one in the middle. I bought the perfect one from the widow of a collector.

And some others: Oriskany went with Utica for this one.

Thanks for the views🤙
Given how abrasive paper is, I'd guess that one was actually used in the mill.
Is that a rehandled Klein Tools?
Yes, Jer. I repurposed some elk antler, rescuing it from becoming a dog chew.

I started piano lessons when I was seven.
Our first stereo was an Ampex reel to reel, and an uncle gave us some tapes he'd recorded. The two that impacted me most were an incredible version of The 1812 Overture in which they used authentic British and French muskets and cannons, and Glen Campbell's "12 String Guitar".
That one is what pushed me into switching from piano to guitar lessons at age eleven.
