What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Every once in awhile, I need a marlinspike. I used to be an Assistant Scoutmaster with my boy's Boy Scout Troop, and my specialties were teaching them knot tying, knife and hatchet safety, and fire making.
One of my cardinal rules was to never cut a rope if you can avoid it. And I still hate to cut a rope no matter how hard it is to get a stubborn knot undone.
You were doing the lords work by teaching boys to become men. I had a brief stint in the scouts back in 83-85. More kids now-a-days could use a good mentorship.

I picked up my first riggers knife out of convenience to save my fingernails from undoing straps on hauling trailers. You dont realize how many reasons you can find to give something lil pokey until you tote one of these guys 😁
