What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Today was definitely a good knife day. My country's biggest livestock and agricultural exhibition opened a couple of days ago, and that means that as long as I'm wearing traditional work clothes (which are just my regular everyday clothes) I can stick a big fixed blade on my belt.

A lot of antique shops with very pretty knives are also present at the show, with lovely examples of fine silversmithing. Boker sets up a big pop up shop every year, too.

I got to take the wee one and show her cows, pigs and sheep (she knows horses well). She was not impressed by the prize bulls but thought Hampshire sows to be superb animals.

Anyway, here's what I carried.

A SAK with scissors is a must when out and about with a baby, second in importance only to extra nappies. The little Case Penknife is quite handy and it fits in a small pocket in the front of classic Argentine work trousers (like the coin pocket in jeans).

Just for fun, here's the little gauchita in training. And some knife content from the exhibition. I'm going to return by myself during the week, so I can make irresponsible, unsupervised purchases.

Looks like a great time. Awesome photo of the little one.

A national livestock show in Argentina, surrounded by beef and cuchillos... sounds like a fantastic time!
Each of the cow breeders' associations has a restaurant set up were you can try different cuts from their chosen breed.

Cheers! She had a great time. She wanted to take home one of the crop dusting drones, but had to settle for a stuffed percheron postier plushie.
