What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I pulled an "Old Geezer" trick when I got up in the middle of the night and tripped on a throw rug in the bathroom. First I slammed my head into the door jam and on the way down slammed my face on the counter and lastly landed on my knee. I'm none the worse for wear - just stiff and sore. Ole "Abby" the Hoarder was right there to lick my face and console me with tail wagging and whining. Taking it easy for the rest of the day with this Osage Orange Wood, spear point, swell end jack. Sausage and waffles for breakfast.

Glad you're "ok" more or less. Glad Abby the Hoarder was there to render aid 🐶
I'm about 15 years younger than you, but I'm already getting questions/advice from medical professionals and insurance about falling. The last time a nurse asked me about balance/falling I said, "Well...I still ride a motorcycle so it can't be too bad." Fortunately, that moved the conversation on to other things :)
Be careful, Ed. I'd feel the poorer for it if I didn't know what was for breakfast in Modoc 🍳

I pull an “Old Wizzer” a couple of times a night and my beautiful bride picked up all the rugs in the house after tripping and falling a couple of times and having to holler at her for help getting up. Haven’t taken a dive since then. Anyway Ed take care or you won’t be winning any beauty contests if you taking it in the kisser. As I recall you have a birthday coming up?…So you want to look good!

Yeah, whenever I'm asked about balance and falling I always say they don't call me "Steady Eddie" for nothing.

Yeah, I'm scheduled to turn eighty-three on 27 August but don't want to jinx it by talking about it too much. My Drivers License is set to expire when I turn eighty-five so it would be convenient if I expired too when I turned eight-five as I wouldn't have to bone up on the rules of the road, and take a driving and eye test.

Another beautiful day here in the City by the Bay! Should be sunny and warm after the early morning haze burns off. After reading the article the headline in the Chronicle should say, “ Deaf Row” for dogs. Apparently what was happening at this “No kill” shelter was common knowledge for a couple of decades but the folks in power chose not to hear. There’s a reason why people need to spay and neuter their pets!!! On a more positive note with a nod to Metal Monday a couple of beauties. Have a great day folks! 😀

Regarding neutering pets, that is certainly the popular push these days, especially in light of all the unwanted and abandoned ones. Veterinarians push it too. Too many allow their dogs and cats to roam free.
After learning of the physical benefits of remaining intact from our breeder, we ruled out putting our German Shepherd Dog under the knife. Both males and females benefit from retaining their organs, at least until 2 years of age. In males, the hormones ensure healthier skeletal structures and heavier, more fully developed bones.
But we do not let Duncan roam free, either.

We are traveling with my wife's parents, 93 and 89. I make sure I'm always close by to lend a hand with stairs and uneven ground. But falls happen so fast!
Dammit, Ed! Be careful!😉

On the other hand, you could get a electric assisted adult trike, trade in the DL for an state i.d., then save on gas, registration, and insurance, when you reach 85 and above.
I dunno if you need a DL, registration, and insurance for a golf cart in your state.
I believe registration was required in FL when I was there, but not the D.L., and insurance. A lot of retired folk drive golfcarts equipped with license plates, around town in So. Fl.
(FL only requires registration on motorcycles. No insurance required. I don't know if electric and gas powered golf carts are the same.)

I've been carrying these the last few days, but I'm glad I brought a diamond stone. The cooking knives in our rental were too dull to cut wet tissue paper.

Colorado does not honor my CCL, so this thing gives me a small measure of comfort. Even though the last thing I want to do is get in a knife fight. Just a last resort/what if kind of mindset. Denver is full of bums who think it's ok to approach and mumble at the kids. Just keep moving, don't make eye contact, and do not engage in "conversation". Good lesson for my 10 and 7 yr. old Grandkids. The three older Granddaughters, 20, 19, and 15 are street wise.

My daughter and I looking at the views from the top of Mt. Falcon. I'm the one on the right.

The Wagon Wheel needs you Ed.
Let's stay healthy now.

Seems like a great area to be able to enjoy with your daughter Jeff.

Jeff, I get what you are saying but unfortunately you are the exception and not the rule as there are way too many pet “owners” who don’t bother to take responsibility for their pets.
