What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I'm on a business trip to a place where saguaros are native. I took the cactus photo about 20 feet from this object, which contains precise location info:

Just for grins, can anyone actually scan that blivet? If not, the lat/lon will locate it anyway.

I like cats:)
He's sure a character, came to me as a wee little half starved thing needing shelter and care, year later he's the big boy:eek: I used to drive through the Great Dismal swamp years ago to visit an uncle in Currituck...

another pic of the yella' rose to get back "on track" ;)

Gave the stag's a break today and carried the Curly birch Chambriard

Bingo! Did you get that from the scan? It's the Ocotillo Trail in the Sonoran Desert Preserve, City of Phoenix Parks & Rec department. More here: http://phoenix.gov/parks/trails/locations/sonoran/index.html

The Schrade wasn't the only knife onboard yesterday — I also had my (late-model) Buck 110, sitting here on the branch of a palo verde tree:

Great pics. If you make it down to Tucson, you'd love the Sonora Desert Museum. I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't been there yet myself, despite having lived here for 15 years, but I still love the desert and the flora and fauna that live here. I wasn't born here - I didn't grow up here, but I consider the desert here my home.

J. Oeser tagged along while sighting in a new scope on my 10-22.

I have a great fondness for Tucson, and have visited Gates Pass Road at sunset a number of times, although work brings me to Phoenix. The desert's not for everyone, but if you can accept a landscape as beautiful even if it isn't green, the desert may be for you.

One last shot (for now) from a fine walk Sunday afternoon — and no, I don't know what that rock is, but I'd guess volcanic tuff, which occur many places in the northern Valley of the Sun:

I've switched to this Case sowbelly for the week. Going deer hunting in a couple days, and decided to carry this one as my pocket knife, in addition to the couple different fixed blades I'll use for skinning and butchering. For some reason the silver script "Case XX" shield just grabs me, I love it!

I always love to see that beauty, Jeff. It has it all ...sowbelly, cranberry, and script!!

Yes I do really like that knife. Might just have me looking, as find I now do have an affinity for three bladed knives.

Nice!
