. Wow! That Childress and sheath... Out of my range for sure but one can dream. :)

Phillll, that sodbuster looks great! Really digging the copper mesh in the handle. What type of material is that/where'd you find it?

Today, it's warming up a little bit here in Philadelphia, but things were still pretty frozen this morning.
I'm hoping that these will be the last of my "wintery" photos this year!
(Knock on wood!!!)

Puukkoman, I'm pretty sure that is "lighting strike kevlar", you can find it online if you look around a bit. :)

Like the look, doing a countertop of same material and would be cool to have matching knife. How did you obtain your Strix?

Also had the runaround with Denim, funny to hear someone else did to.

thanks

Puukoman, I'm glad you asked. The material is homemade micarta with layered burlap and copper mesh, set in fiberglass resin. I helped my friend (his name is esnyx here on the forums) make it from scratch.

Awesome, thanks for the info. It really is something else - looks great! Very unique, I like it a lot.

Thanks. We are really proud of how it came out. The copper mesh is actually scraps from building military helicopters. We also did another block with slightly darker burlap. He did a really nice job installing and shaping the scales, too.

Finally warmed up enough to head over the shooting range today, and I grabbed the big Cattle King for the adventure.

Added some brass to my pockets this week. Thought it would be fun to watch a different kind of metal patina. So far, I am enjoying the little 55. Great size for EDC.
