What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Was working on equipment for our upcoming season (Still waiting for Spring) and used exclusively my Tomato HJ and aaa Maratac:thumbup:

I love the covers on this knife, it's like staring into a campfire---mesmerizing:D

Mr. BadExample,

That sure is a pretty fine stag peanut with CV there!!

Arizona Ranchman,

Really nice GEC!

Linkto Derek,
Northwoods:thumbup: Tidioute

SAK Guy,

Really like your Catt!

Paul Hilborn says : I love the covers on this knife, it's like staring into a campfire---mesmerizing

So do I and the blades are equally fine!:)

Scott, I'll answer for that. It is the standard secondary on the pattern from GEC. A super fine knife. I have one in smooth ivory bone and another in rosewood.

I happened to be carrying this fellow today:

Awesome #92... This is one of my favorite patterns, that speer/coping combo is ideal IMO. This particular barehead 92 in African Blackwood is beautiful. I have one in Autumn Gold bone and it's def one of the "keepers" in the inner-circle of favs.

I actually didn't realize the #92 (or any) gec came with a spear/coping combo, but was hoping I could find something with that. Low and behold, I found a white bone 92 on the exchange and I should have it Saturday or Monday. I'm really excited.

Anyway, I'm carrying this still:

The edge came just unbelievably uneven, and I still haven't gotten it to where I like. Certainly different than 1095.

This was in my pocket again today. I know they say variety is the spice of life, but I keep coming back to this one. Don't think I'll ever get bored of it :)

Thanks, brothers, for the comments and question (asked and answered).
After some judicious smoothing of a few sharp edges, I have a new understanding of why people rave about the Eureka Jack pattern -an organic and natural tactile sensation, no matter how you grab the handle to cut something. I'm anxious to see the cover options on the next run, with a single wharncliffe blade. All of the Tidioute barehead ebony 92's made last year (at least all of the ones I've seen), have the darkest ebony covers ever produced by GEC, to my knowledge. Hope they do as well on the next batch.
