What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Gary - that photo makes me even more excited to get out and fish this weekend. Spinner reel for now, but hoping to get a hand-me-down fly rod soon.

Scout is with me again today.

What a beautiful and interesting knife. Between the long bolsters, the bar shield (is it just my eyesight or is that one curved slightly?), and 3 back springs - There's a lot going on, and a lot to like. Very nice!

By the way, who's the maker?

Thanks for the compliment, Stephen! It you set in flush on the table on its backsprings...it is curved. It is a...Eastern Cutlery Co. and I have never seen another with this stamp.

Thanks, and again, it's a beauty! Here's a picture of an Eastern Cutlery Co Germany stamp on an old butchers knife that I saw for sale on the big online auction company site - no idea if it's the same maker as yours, but thought I'd share in case you're interested.

Thanks Brian, I've had quite a few Brusletto knives and found them all to be good. I gave my Gubben away a few years ago, but I came across a Gubben blade in my stuff a while back. Have to do something with it sometime :)

Ok so I have to ask. What is a Gubben blade? :D

Very cool!! I appreciated you bringing that to my attention. Now I have seen two stamps. I wonder if anyone else has an Eastern Cutlery Co?

Thanks again, Stephen :thumbup::thumbup: Awesome!

Switched late in the day to this rascal that arrived in the mail, an Apocalypse Rancher, all my other SAK's are green with envy ;)

1979 CV Case 6292 Texas Jack. I've been carrying this exclusively as my traditional EDC for the last couple/three weeks.

Stream-side again today. Brought my Cramer LC Jr along.

Gary - Those scales sure do light up real nice with the light bearing down on them - I notice that you called it a LC Jr. - I am assuming that makes it smaller than a LC and I was wondering what the closed length is? Stream-side is a nice place to be. :)

my newest Case/Bose arrival:

Alex - congratulations on the new arrival - yours looks like a nice one and I love my chestnut CJ.;)

Primble, This Lanny's Clip Jr is 3.5". I think the original pattern is 3 7/8". If that's wrong I hope someone will correct me.
I'll be back in that same spot tomorrow too. :-)

That makes it a nice size to carry. Yes - my Case/Bose LC is 3 7/8".

All of a sudden, I really want one of these. First shot I've seen of just the sf open, and it's rather nice :)
Paul, these are a really fantastic offering. The pulls are on the softer side of the GEC lineup, and the size and shape make them easy to carry, yet substantial enough for secure grip. This one's a handy lil' dandy :D
