What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Beautiful Lloyd knife, Stephen! He does awesome work.

That looks absolutely fantastic Stephen!

A stunning beauty, Stephen!! The blade shape, the hafts, the shield....marvelous knife:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for the compliments. I'm a big fan of Mr. Lloyd's work. As I said, my pictures don't do the beautiful desert ironwood scales justice - it's a real shame my photography skills aren't on par with you guys. It's stunning in person though and is built like a tank, but still manages to fit in my watch pocket. Thanks again! :)

This again today, but it's taking on patina fast due to kitchen fatigues. I find the Sheepfoot just right, suitable blade/handle ratio and I have childish glee at the glow-worm antics of the Nifebrite :D:D Tough stuff too. Thanks, Will

Just like that Will, I already broke my #48 jack for the month statement... I had remembered the feeling of glee you spoke about when using my #47s and #65 so... I just put this one in my pocket. I guess I'll carry this one instead for June. Now, gotta get started on the patina...

Lots of beautiful knives and great photos again today. :) I'm carrying this new 3 1/2" shadow pattern Lanny's Clip by John Lloyd. John's a talented maker, a true gentleman, and a great guy to work with. He far, far exceeded my expectations on this one. Unfortunately, my pictures don't really do it justice.

Hi Sam!

Yes, it's the 2011 Case/Bose collab:

Most solidly built (regardless of the small size) traditional I have handled so far. Have only had it for a couple of days, but I AM impressed for sure.

Best regards,
Alex

Alex, your photo down into the blade wells of the Bose reminds me how much I like the seldom seen touch of an extension spring for the secondary blade. This caused me to grab my Northfield Eureka Jack, which to date is the only GEC I can think of with this feature, and a near perfect blade combination with my modified clip main.

Hello!

Sam, I'm glad I finally got one (been eyeing one for months). ;)

Jeff, great looking knife! Will have to get a (my first) GEC soon...

Best regards,
Alex

Bargain day: The Old Timer was 5 bucks at a gun and knife show and it had never been sharpend. The only problem with it was it had what seemed like bed liner on the blades. I tried everything to disolve the stuff so I could keep the knife as a safe queen. Nothing worked, so I sanded the worst of it off and now I have a great user. The tri-hone was given to me.

Great find for $5! Looks like it cleaned up nice too!

One of the many reasons I love the 2013 forum knife :)

That coffin jack is a looker, and rather unusual too!

I feel you fellas on the glow knife thing, Im usually a bone handle kinda guy, but these knifebrite acrylic knives have really mesmerized me for some reason. They definitely have some kinda quality about them that I feel has taken away from my bone handle obsession. Not sure if its a novelty thing, or some weird childlike nostalgia, but what I really like about them is that if its dark and you drop it or put it down, you can shine a flashlight around the area and there it is.

That has got to be one of the best clip points I have ever seen.

Thanks. I'm quite smitten with the Turkish clip.

Here we go Brian :)

Wow, that looks superb. Nice FB too

Jack that is a sweet Gubben! I really like the handle shape and scandi grind. The sheath looks superior to mine. Very nice. May have to track that one down.

And thanks. Both of these are definitely winners. The necker has an excellent kydex neck sheath.
It's been my walking companion the past few days.

Like those two a lot.

Really like those slim 66s.
Like to know how that 66 compares to the GEC white owl - in thickness of handle? Never mind - just read the answer to that in another thread.

Thanks Jone. I think it's safe to say our tastes are very similar. I have at least four of your former knives, if not more. :)
Is that little slab of titanium from Daniel Fairly? I have something like that from him. It's almost a kiridashi but not quite. Very handy.

Very beautiful wood on that one Stephen.:)

Like those two a lot.

Yes, green canvas micarta. I ordered a couple of pieces and replaced the old plastic scales with these. It was my first attempt and a lot of fun.

Thank you Jone - glad you liked my two BP's - you did a great job on your "yard" tools.:D

KYEnglish - I liked your knives and picture as well!;)
