What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Awesome pic of your Crown Lifter on that log by the stream Smitty! I love Idaho. One of my best friends lives up there and we've had some great times up in the Sawtooth Mtns.

Thanks! I'm a few hours east of the Sawtooths, but hoping to get out there for a little exploring next month (there are some great hot springs around there as well). We've been hitting a bunch of small streams this weekend, and finding some great fishing close to home that hardly anyone visits. Amazing how you can lose the crowds by simply being willing to hike a little bit. ;)

These all deserve one more look...

Just my Shapleigh DE today. It is a little smaller than most Barlows, at 3 & 3/8 inches closed, but, weighty for it's size:

I'm carrying my "precious" today, the Case amber bone MCH:

I found this circa 1960 Queen #15 Half Congress in a toolbox I recently inherited from an old buddy - carrying it in rememberance of my buddy Scott. OH

Very nice pair of knives and picture Jack - got me wondering about the maker on the foreground knife ??

Thanks a lot Primble, that Barlow is a beauty  The knife in the foreground of my pic is an old Carl Schlieper, given to me by Duncan when we met up in Sheffield last year. I find it a great knife and carry it a lot when I'm out walking :)

Very nice combo there Kris. The leatherwork on that sheath is as impeccable as the knife  Your photos of the two sure are some sweet " eye candy "!

+1

My carry for the weekend - #15 Crown Lifter:

Great pic of a classy-looking old knife Ken

My Sunday knives :)

Some real beauties lately. Between Sams new addition and pictures of new knives from Jared, I grabbed my moose this morning. He really makes a fantastic knife!

Hey Zach, that is a great looking stockman!...care to expound? GEC I think....but I don't recall seeing that bone in the stockman.

Great shot great looking knife.

Peter

Thanks Peter! This one is the #66 calf roper pattern from GEC in spring green bone.

What a great batch of knives posted this Sunday morning.

Ken - I can see why you keep pocketing that one; it's gorgeous. :)

Andi & Linus - the sheepsfoot EO Scout's are always a great choice. :thumb up:

Old Hunter - really nice Queen #15 and a touching story behind it too. :thumb up:

Jack - that Carl Schlieper is just an outstanding looking knife. Nice ebony pairing you're carrying today as well. :thumb up:

Stich - I never get tired of seeing that beautiful little peanut. Love the bone and patina. :thumb up:

rockgolfer - I marvel at your Oeser every time I see it. What an interesting and beautiful pattern. :)

Jon - I love the red bone scales on your Case. Makes me think I should add some more colors to my collection; most of mine tend to be more basic, earthy colors. :thumb up:

I'm carrying a Schatt & Morgan Sowbelly today.

Thank you gents! I am lucky to own one of Jareds masterpieces. I still have yet to find an error in his work. Every grind is even to the eye from side to side. After all the use it still walks and talks like the day I got it. Flush in all positions, no gaps. Truly fantastic craftsmanship!

Great looking pair. I have the same Calf Roper and have been pairing it up with my Case 5327 Baby Stockman. They make a great pair that's fun to use.

Jim

Yes I just LOVE this #66 Stockman (Calf Roper) in blood bone. It's beginning to dominate my EDC rotation anymore lately. It's my first and only 3-blade pocket knife and let me tell you I've been very impressed with it. Surprisingly it's very pocketable and doesn't feel like a brick like I thought a 3-blade would. They somehow manage to intermingle those blades very compactly and it's barely wider than my other favorite, a 2-blade Radio Jack. A very pleasant surprise.
