What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

^^^Jack that rust red bone is about to set the woods on fire! Very stunning that one.

And what's the scale material on the clasp knife? Looks tough as nails. Nice moment by the river too.

Well I was busy all day and then had work tonight but I got the Rosewood Toothpick and I'm very pleased. Served as my dinner knife tonight. I'll make sure to take some more exciting pics soon.

Thank you very much my friend.

The scale material is called Bexoid, it is pretty tough

Cellulose Acetate

Invented by Camile and Henri Dreyfus, 1904

Sold under multiple tradenames including Celanese, Estron, Zylonite, Plastacele, Bexoid, Trenite, and Clarifoil. It solved the problem of cellulose nitrate’s flammability. Primarily used to stiifen and waterproof fabric, as a fiber, and as a laminate. Sometimes used in jewelry in layers of brightly-colored laminate.

These two today.

What is the scale material on this one? Looks like a very light antique amber? Beautiful.

I think this one was actually a factory second, which I was sure was because the mark side scale pin has a tiny chip next to it, but I wonder whether it was due to the bone being a bit different.

The single blade is a more common representation of antique amber. Also, the only reason I have the single blade is because after I put my order in for a 2-blade, Charlie realized that the only one left was a factory second, so he threw the single blade in free of charge! Charlie really is a stand up guy.

Felt like something small today, so I pocketed the Northwoods Norfolk.

I was pretty simple through the day... Victorinox Electrician - love that knife and the combination of spear mainblade, sheepfoot secondary and awl reminds me like a great great cattleman´s pattern

Lots of familiar knives today I have in my own rotation. The Northwoods Madison Barlow & Norfolk and the Vic Alox are among my favorites. I'm carrying a new to me Northfield Dogleg Jack Yellow Rose along with a Vic Alox Pioneer.

Started the day carrying the Northwoods, but the postman brought me some classic Case goodness (1978 models with walnut covers and they are about an 8 on my pull scale).

Thanks for the reply and thorough background. Frankly, I think they both look cool. :D

I have knives from CASE, Böker, GEC, Buck and RR (completely unabashed by this) that I'm very keen on and feel lucky to have. But when Queen gets a knife right it pleases me more than any other company. It's an aura thing. Here pattern No.48 in WCSB with divided backspring, D2 blades. Best triple blade knife I own, no hint of gaps or play, fantastic snap. Thanks, Will
