Ok... in my search for the GEC 15 sheep foot... I found this beauty! Love it!
1977 Case 11031 SH Stainless Whaler.
Beautiful Walnut scales
I love that it is so old and in such good shape! What a find.

Great knife. I love the one I have. Still has a really strong spring.

FWIW, and I think this may have been touched on in a subsequent post, there's a different model (#1199) that Case calls the Whaler. It's bigger than the 11031, comes in at 4 1/4" I think, and has the bail. Some have Case XX Whaler stamped in the handle and others have a whale graphic etched on the blade. A quick image search will bring up several examples. I ended up chasing an 1199 once thinking it was an 11031, which is what I was really after at the time. Similar appearance, same blade style and same handle material can lead to confusion.

Sticking with the big sheepsfoot blade theme I carried this Camillus 4-line rope knife today after doing some work on the edge. Still has some nicks but it's akin to a big old straight razor after it gets off the fine ceramics.

I like the over the top shot too Gary.:D

Two familiar friends today :)

Very nice pictures of two fine looking knives.:)

I had my old Cattaraugus with me late yesterday. After my walk, I took a few new pictures of it. I really like the 3 & 3/8 inch closed size.
It might as well go back in the pocket again today:
