What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I don't like to show all the cards I'm holding or all the knives I'm carrying, but here's a couple in my pockets today:

Bob, the more I'm seein' that Little Creek of yours the more I'm likin' it. Beautiful stag on your Bark Creek, Mark.

Thanks. I really like it too Keith. It feels good in the hand and the slight choil at the base of the blade helps give you great control of the blade. They're pretty reasonably priced too. This one is in CPM 3V steel. Holds a good edge.

Bob, Tom is correct. It is a BR Adventurer and thanks for the compliments.

Thanks Keith! It is actually Antique Bone Stag but it feels good in hand. :)

That old TL-29 looks to be in great shape Gary. Very underrated knife.

Thanks, Bob; I picked it up at a gun&knife show for what I thought was a very good price, and it cleaned up very nicely. When I got it, it was VERY stiff, but much nicer pull now. Some pitting on one side of the screwdriver, but overall, I think it looks very clean and elegant. :) I really need to work on the edge though; it's the dullest knife I own by far, and I just haven't found time to work on sharpening it. :(

I, on the other hand, have too much time and sharpen my knives all the time. :D Mostly just stropping though. On my days that I'm not well, I sit out on the deck on nice days to read and strop. Read and strop. ;)

Waiting on some much needed rain here in the Dakotas. Farmers jack in brown Camel bone...love the blades, love the knife...disappears in pocket and feels great in your hand:thumbup:

Glad you're liking the Farmers Jack Paul...I'm waiting for my blood red 38 half Whittler to get here.

I saw those up for sale Todd...they look pretty sweet!

In honor of Wooden Wednesday...

They did a really nice job on that, Mark. I kinda wondered if it wasn't some kind of carved bone, but wanted to give the benefit of the doubt. Looks great at any rate!

You say that like it's a bad thing, Bob; at the moment that sounds IDEAL to me. ;)
But I know what you mean. There's a lot of truth in the old saying that variety is the spice of life.
It seems like all I've done for the past 3.5 months is work and sleep, and a little reading and stropping sounds great to me.
Sounds like you've had your fill of read and strop, and to say that you'd welcome the chance to get some "real" work done is probably a huge understatement. Hang in there, Bob!

Here's a couple of other knives that were in my pockets today:

Reading, stropping, and FISHING sounds amazing to me today. (that fishing thread really got me all worked up...I need to move to New Zealand!)

Really loving on this one lately...

Looks like you have your pockets filled with some nice ones GT!

pertinux is gonna love this pic!

:D

My initial reaction to the Farmer Jacks is very similar to Bob's; not sure I'd care for the pruner blade. But Paul's opinion certainly carries some weight

I've been somewhat intrigued and pleasantly surprised to see how popular they've been...I thought it was just Lyle! ;)

Like your knives, Jack, but I can't figure out what the background objects are in the first photo.

Thanks my friend, that's a whole pile of loom shuttle bobbins. I took the pic at the old mill I visited last weekend. Designs vary a bit, but here's a stock pic so you can kind of see how they fit in the shuttle
