What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Snowing like hell again here in New England, so I'll be out battle-ing snow for the next 2 days!! Have my trusty SAK and a stockman in my pockets..here we go!

Paul

Good luck getting through 'Snowpocalypse' after that storm is finished beating up on you folks it's headed our way. I think I'll be packin' a SAK and jack to get through it myself. Winter:rolleyes:

This pair today. Since I picked up another Tribal Spear this one is going to see some good use. The Case Swayback CV fits perfectly in my watch pocket.

nice combo!
I mean AWESOME combo

This GEC # 62 came in the mail yesterday. The rams horn scales don't match up too well, but aside from that the fit and finish is impeccable. About as close as I've seen to custom on a production knife (I know, it's said all the time). I actually don't mind the mismatched scales, as now it's like I have an example of interior and exterior (kind of) horn on the same knife. Here's a few quick picks I took at lunch today.

GEC has done great things with this pattern! I am really digging on my snakewood version. Need to spend some time reprofiling the edge but the overall F&F is great!

That's a very nice knife. I think it is okay when these scales are a bit different side to side. After all this stuff is God made and it varies even in the same horn (or antler). I like it a lot. You know if it matched perfectly it might as well be a piece of delrin, a pretty good material, but I'd take your ram's horn every time.

Today, I carried my new Boker barlow, my first barlow in 40 years. Pretty sweet. One of these days it may make my "top three". Actually did some work with it too. Opened some mail and my oldest son used it to pick a sliver of metal out of his index finger. How's that for versatility? :D

this guy, again and again
it's OK sharp form the factory, enough to have not me convex it
oh I have 2, only exeption

one like it in micarta and with a wharnie/more pointy secondary would be awesome
I may have to go custom one day, makers be alert!

Thanks Ed, the stag on your Barlow is looking mighty fine as well

Thanks yobbos1. Really fits in the hand well and cuts like crazy after I reprofiled the edge. Really feels like something special when I put it to use.

Maxx, I really like that cobblestone bone. I see why you like to carry it.

Elliott, that slimline is fantastic!! I have to stare at it every time you post it. I highjacked the photo and put a copy in "Favorite knife photos" folder on my HD. - Ed

Elliott, the swedge on the Howser slimline is incredible!

I absolutely love that Barlow. Perfect in every way in my opinion.

tomsch, I admire that Dogleg, the bone and finish:thumbup: Just waiting for them to issue that with Spear:D

Böker do a very decent Barlow, the Russell River one I have in Green Sawn Bone is much prized. Excellent finish too.

Today, I will pocket something low cost. RR Old Yellow Whittler, fantastic knife with a nice split back . It will do nicely today.
